Using memos for more

Font Size:

Did you know that you can send voice memos from your iPhone to other people’s phones or computers?

To do this, first record a Voice Memo. If you’re on an iPhone, this can be done by simply opening the ‘Voice Memos’ app. If you’re using an iPad then you’ll have to download a third-party app, as one does not come preinstalled. The best free option is Audio Memos Free.

Once you have recorded a memo, sending is quite simple.

For iPhone

Simply open the memo within the Voice Memos app and tap the share button, shown as a square with a protruding arrow. Now you can select either Message or Mail, then simply choose a contact and send away. Any computer or smartphone should be able to effortlessly open this message and play the memo, which is great for sending quick voice messages for special occasions, such as birthdays.

For iPad

Open up ‘Audio Memos Free’ and record a memo, now select the memo which you have recorded and press the ‘Send’ button at the bottom of the screen. From here you can choose an email address to send it to, unfortunately you cannot send text messages from the iPad. Once you’ve selected an address just tap ‘Send’ and you’re done. This can be handy for verbally sharing things such as shopping or to do lists with yourself.
