Great news for Tour de France fans - Britain's Chris Froome and Team Sky rider is to compete in Vuelta a Espana. Chris won the Tour de France this year, his second win in this great race.

The Vuelta a Espana, the third and final Grand Tour of 2015 starts later this month. In Spain Chris will attempt to become only the 10th cyclist to win two Grand Tours in one season. Good luck Chris!

That was a great race Abby, I hope some people enjoyed it. Very hard on the behind but sure was exciting.

And now - the route is all set for the 2016 Tour de France. Starts 2 July (polling day) and finishes 24th July.

Put the date in your diaries if you like exciting spills and thrills !!!

Hey Ray, read the Tour de France 2017 will be starting in Dusseldorf for the first time in 30 years. We're planning a European trip next year, may consider extending to Dusseldorf, if we can get a hotel booking!

Perhaps if you cannot get a booking at the start town why not go for the FINISH ... sounds like the better end to me :)

:) Might be cheaper than the start (to host that is). Found this hard to believe when I read it.

Hey Reagan, lucky man wish I could get to the race, but will be writing about it back here in Oz for a little sports rag.

Being at the finish is more exciting to me because then you stand a good chance of bumping into the riders also able to watch the trophy ceremony.

However they say the end of the race will be somewhere near Messe, and won't reveal exactly where until October. That might be too late for hotel bookings I'm thinking.

Will send you an email when I know more, will send you one anyway.
