Welcome the day, We are all above the ground.

I have decided to put some airfreshener in my day, and start again, The sun is shining, The birds are singing , and anyone that feels like they would like to celebrate how lucky we all are to be in the position of making choices and wants to enjoy a topic that is a far cry from hostility...please join in... Maybe it will catch on...?

I for one will be happy just to sit in here , relax , comment and read.

How's your day?

Cranky that weapon Tarzan's got looks like an overkill for pruning roses? Cats I had huge sunflowers once but sorry I can't remember if from seed or not. Your fence would be better facing North, or at least getting plenty of sunlight as the flowers actually turn and face the sun as it crosses the sky. Maybe checkout a nursery?

We have a home where the rear faces north, brilliant sun all year round, but if you plant things on the south side of a north fence any climber will go over the other side of the fence to flower on the other side and not face the house where you want to see the flowers!   Even our creepers at the side like to climb over to get the westerly setting sun!

Cats have a read of the site below for Sunflowers!  Good luck.

thanks for your replies,   the fence i want to grow them by is sun all day,   in fact the whole house gets sun all day,    i love sunflowers,  but no nothing about them, except they are big,   i will ask the man at the market,    i would love to know how to garden,    but most things die on me,   the boganvilla is the only thing that has lasted,

HOLA,    have just seen those outfits,  might be the go,   ill ask my co star what he thinks,   he may already have a dagger,     he has a pith helmet,   so no knowing what else he has,    YES,   he is dragging the chain, isnt he,    i am just about ready to be off,        as for the music,   im not sure,    my co star likes CARAVAN,    i know that,    we shall have to have a tete a tete and discuss,

Off cruising for a few weeks,

Just loving this retirement..

Take care all..... :)

Good on you Cranky - I'm sure you are going to have a fantastic time. They tell me you're a killer on the dance floor, just watch those knees.

Sea or Sun Princess in that photo Cranky in Alaska by the look of it.

Where are you off to?

We did 63 days on HAL last year, was interesting with all the Americans on board, we circumnavigated Australia. I asked if Australia was anything like they expected?  No was their reply better!

We then kept on the same vessel and went over to Tahiti and around the islands I had never heard of before that, then down to NZ and home.  Was really great except for the noise on the sports deck. Wish they would not place the suites under the sports decks.  For that reason we would not go back on that boat.

Flying out to the UK later in the year renting a house near where we were born and then hopping on a cruise back to oz, via the Panama.

And there you all were thinking I had abandoned ship....lol

Cranky - Welcome back, we have missed you heaps. Missed your lovely sense of humour. Have you been on tour again? Would loved to hear about your adventures when you have time.

Welcome back Cranky.

Hope you enjoyed your escape ... wherever/whatever it entailed.

Thankyou friends, Well I'd like to say I had a wonderful holiday and lived happily ever after..but unfortunately it was my roll of the dice to have a few months of really bad luck but good luck in the sense I am able to reflect on the bad and be thankful for the good...I have made it through my health crisis and my son decided to join me but with another condition...I am better and he is holding his own waiting dialysis...How precious is life..

Its been a shi__y and bumpy ride but I am not one to dwell on it. So it will remain where it is and its onward and upward to hopefully a more healthy future.

But the great news is... "I am well and truly above the ground"  and my sense of humour is about to bloom again in the Spring..

Yes sorry to hear about your  health battles. Yes life is precious. Just lost a family member this week aged 60. Trying to enjoy the sunshine

Hello Cranky,

How lovely to see you! So sorry to hear you've been ill and glad you're well and truly on the mend. Positive thoughts to your son and hope his health improves.

Chin up and soldier on :)

I can hardly wait for Spring to come.... seems hard to believe that it is just around the corner.

...it is bitterly cold here today and raining.

Thankyou Sophie, We all plough on as we get older and our bodies fall to bits and drop off...I was as fit as a fiddle at 50 but I guess I am going back down the stairs now, slowly, I might add as my eyesight is not as good as it was either, I dont want to land with a heavy thump as I hit the bottom...

But what is left intact is my sense of humour and in reality my mirror is not my friend any more , but it now gives me a good laugh as I run past...ok..walk past..

But getting better by the day...unfortunatly I can't say the same for my brave son, only time will tell...

Glad to see the sense of humour is still intact Cranky..keep it up:)

:) Lovely to see your posts Cranky. All my best to you and your son.

Thankyou both :)..I have to spend a lot of time holding the fort of my sons business but I will be popping in for some light relief when time allows..

Hard to catch up when there is so much to catch up on though... :D

And the subject in my home Sunday was "Who ate my last Caramello bear ?"

It was "Dads day," all the kids and Grandkids were here, everybody had access to the fridge, and nobody witnessed a thing...

A major investigation took place and nanny put them all under the microscope... then the lie detector and lastly the look in the eyes test...

Nothing... All passed with flying colours and the dog can't reach...

Monday morning...In comes Dad from his shopping spree... and guess what he had clutched in his hand...

Yep, A large size Caramello bear..... for me...

He just fancied a chocolate snack and thats all he could find...

Poor kids.. Guilty before proven innocent...

Just as well they all thought it was hilarious... so much for never eating chocolate pop.!
