The opening weekend of the new Star Wars film has seen fans flocking to the cinemas, with $720 million taken in at box offices around the world. What makes this figure even more impressive is the fact that the country with the largest population in the world, China, won't have the film in cinemas for a few more weeks.

Fans of the film franchise were not left disappointed, responding with an early rating of 8.8/10 given on IMDB by 150,000 users.

I saw it and I wasn't disappointed or excited.  Thought it was a bit average compared to Star Wars 1 & 2.. I actually thought it was boring in some parts 

If they'd waited too much longer to make this movie they would have had to dug up the original cast.

Took the grandsons to see this, although they thought it was great, I preferred the previous ones. Still a lot of fun though.

We saw it yesterday. General concensus was that it was a good action movie, great stunts and FX and good storyline.  The 3D was awesome, but probably unnecessary.  The flying scenes were very realistic. Still love the Millenium Falcon's nose. Straight off a Boeing B-29.

This is the sequel where I first saw the character of Kylo Ren played by Adam Driver and I must say that he was one of the worthy match to Luke Skywalker.
