Some will be offended.

This morning I received an email from Marks and Spencers.

The subject line was: " Your mother called and she would like these gifts" (referring to mother's day)

I emailed them back saying my mother died 12 years ago and I found it offensive that they would send out such an email.

Would others be offended?

Hey Rads ....... already put this type of "marketing"...  into the Bin "Topic" a couple days ago  (you will see who sent me those emails in there .....) and YES I was highly offended - for the very same reason!!!

Not so much offended Radish as much as "distressed'. especially if the person recieving the email had recently lost their Mother.

I guess its the sign of the times now, there is no thought, or feeling, its all about the almighty dollar and what sales can be generated from the emails.

Kids now feel obligated to buy an expensive  'present" for Mum, Whereas years ago my own kids would bring in a flower, A special card made at school., and recieve a warm hug.

But modern technology allows these emails to land on everyones computer, they dont give two hoots whether you have a Mother or not..

That button gets pushed and away they fly...

Oh, did not notice you had put something up Foxy...sorry ole bean :)

I emailed Marks and Spencer and voiced my displeasure.

hey - no probs!   I just "stuck 'em in da bin" !!!  :-)

Can't wait for Marks and Sparks to open up in WA....used to be one of my favourite shops in the UK.

i think they are due to open in melbourne shortly,   i hope so,   remember them from LONDON,.

My hubby still has four pairs of Marks and Spencer's under daks and I have a white mohair cardigan, bought from Marks and Spencer's in 1998, and still in great condition.

Yes, I well remember Marks and Sparks from my time living in London in the late 60's early 70's.
