What would happen if you didn’t drink water?

I love a good TedTalk – and this one is a quickie but a goodie that tells us what happens if we don’t drink enough water, and what happens when we drink too much. Just when you thought you knew all you could about water, there comes another clever professor that tells you something new and interesting.

What would happen if you didn't drink water?

Nothing good in my recent hospital experience.

A balancing act for sure IMO. Too little, blood pressure plummets. Too much, salt levels plummet and into intensive care unit.

Isn't it amazing RnR.  Every day, some scientific expert will tell us of something else that we have been doing all our lives, will kill us.  We just keep on growing older every year.  I haven't drunk water since I realised how much better Wild Turkey tastes without it.

I know if I gave up drinking water my life would be so much easier..

My time is far too valuable to spend so much of it when out and about looking for the loos... :(

But according to that informative video. I drink sufficient water to keep my brain plump, and active, so thats the reason I think a lot...lol

"What would happen if you didn’t drink water?"

You would die.

Failing to drink enough water not only causes dehydration and body temperature control, it can also cause kidney failure. Many Medical Professionals say that by the time you realise you are thirsty you have already started to dehydrate.

Then your scotch is what is called "straight".

Not drinking enough water can have some serious consequences. I try to drink at least a litre of plain water each day plus other drinks of course that contain water during the day in the winter months...however in Summer I drink a lot more...

Your kidneys and skin will thank you for it!!

I just listen to my body. When it says it wants something, I have it. I have total faith in my own body telling me what it needs and when. I think it knows better than all the expert advisors that one feels they should follow. My body tells me when I want something savoury, sweet or thirst quenching and I then have choice about whether I satisfy these urges with healthy food and liquids or with garbage foods and soft drinks.
