Pitfalls of retiring to Bali to live
Should the Australian taxpayers' fund the hundreds of thousands of dollars it will cost to bring an injured man back to Australia for treatment after being assaulted in Bali.??
He would need to be brought back on a specially fitted plane.
This man has been living in Bali for 10 years and has no travel insurance. I feel very sorry for him but where does it end. If this man is helped out others will want the same treatment if they have no travel insurance and get into trouble anywhere in the world.
People need to think long and hard before they decide to live in other parts of the world. You definitely need to think of what would happen if you needed urgent medical treatment that is for sure.
Maybe crowd funding is the way to go. Seems to be the answer to everything these days.
