More fear mongering from Murdoch.

I've never thought of the domain of ISIS as tropical.

And there are many people doing trip in that area now -- I have 3 people I know that are there now, makes you wonder where their heads are at?

Do they have good travel insurance?

I wouldn't have a clue if they have insurance or not -- if they are silly enough to risk going there they are no worth worrying about

"Dr Waleed Al-Salem of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, said: ‘It’s a very bad situation. The disease has spread dramatically in Syria, but also into countries like Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey and even into southern Europe with refugees coming in.

‘There are thousands of cases in the region but it is still underestimated because no one can count the exact number of people affected."

Another good reason ( as if we needed one) to keep these people out of Australia!

The Murdoch fear and hate plan works with you.

This poor man had no chance.

Finally heard this mentioned on the ABC  news this morning.  Takes a while it would appear for media outlets in Australia to catch up.

Sad story, but nothing to do with this topic.

Is it your topic?

Nope.

Banjo,  the title of this thread is Flesh Eating Tropical Bug.

The gentleman who died in England died from this disease...it is entirely appropriate to put it up.

Pepe the man who died in England hadn't been in the Tropics, I come from near Southampton and Tropical it is not, but Necrosing Fasciitis is different to your Topic Header organism and  it is a very nasty bug which can appear in any climate and also known to have caused many deaths from Gangrene in the trenches in WW!.

This  is an interesting Topic and brings attention to everyone some infections need prompt treatment.

pepe - The gentleman who died in England did NOT die from the Flesh Eating Tropical Bug.

Banjo's comment was off-topic.

I await your apology. (But I don't expect it.)

You are quite right Pepe, the man who died did so from that bug you're talking about

JOHN MIDDLETON AND HIS Partner

Pepe

Meant to add that this flesh eating bug started off in ISIS strongholds because of rotting corpses. It then spread to other countries in Europe where refugees fled to. Southampton is a seaside town and it is not difficult to understand how this disease can infect someone even though they might not have been to the tropics.

It is a fallacy that one has to have been in the tropics to be infected.

Banjo - nowhere in the linked article does it even mention the possibility that the bug this guy died from is the same one as the one from the middle eaast. That thought would appear to be entirely in your anti-Islam, hate filled imagination.

This is another anti-Muslim hate thread. That makes it reportable.
