Could China solve the world's traffic congestion problem?

China has come up with the ultimate way to overcome traffic congestion: glide over it.

A floating elevated bus could solve China’s congestion and air pollution problems. The design was unveiled at the International High-Tech Expo. It has been suggested that it could replace up to 40 regular buses on the road.

Engineers say the transit elevated bus (TEB), which would function in a similar way to the subway but cost 16 per cent less, would be able to travel at 60km per hour, carry 1400 passengers and save more than 800 tons of fuel a year.

How cool does that sound! Do you think we need a few of these in Australia?

Love the 'Straddle Bus' and the way it seems to gobble up whatever is in its path. Great idea IMO.

Could do with it on the GC, Qld (rather than light rail) at the moment.

but watch out for those high trucks, and keep in the right lane!!!

Those Chinese are brilliant. The man said the construction of one could be completed in a year?

It takes 3 months for our local council to repair a pot hole.

They have a high incident of building collapses and their so called cheap manufactured products are inferior compared to products that used to be manufactured in the West. Keep praising them while I will praise the Scandinavian countries.

We have a lot to learn from Asian countries but of course they have cheaper labor than we have here and  get things done so much quicker.

I am also amazed whenever I go to Singapore at how much development has been carried out from when I was last there.

The Gardens by the Bay (or whatever it is called) is wonderful and if anyone is going there you most have a look at it...wonderful.

The Marina Bay Sands hotel is well worth a visit as well.  Quite an amazing structure and the only one of its kind in the world I think.  See in the link.

They have higher suicide rates trying to compete with the West.

Wouldn't work in Qld. No one stays in a lane..... or indicates........... or anything else for that matter.
