Could China solve the world's traffic congestion problem?
China has come up with the ultimate way to overcome traffic congestion: glide over it.
A floating elevated bus could solve China’s congestion and air pollution problems. The design was unveiled at the International High-Tech Expo. It has been suggested that it could replace up to 40 regular buses on the road.
Engineers say the transit elevated bus (TEB), which would function in a similar way to the subway but cost 16 per cent less, would be able to travel at 60km per hour, carry 1400 passengers and save more than 800 tons of fuel a year.
How cool does that sound! Do you think we need a few of these in Australia?
Love the 'Straddle Bus' and the way it seems to gobble up whatever is in its path. Great idea IMO.
Could do with it on the GC, Qld (rather than light rail) at the moment.
