AUSTRALIA - MUSLIM IMMIGRATION - ETC. ETC.

...okay - going out on a limb I guess with this one but .......

.....after watching what I would consider one of the most controversial episodes of Q. & A. (ABC) last night....featuring Pauline Hanson...... also the "Today" Show's - Sonja Kruger's comments earlier...(for which she later apologised for - and Chn. 9 actually "backing" her statements/opinions..... re Muslim Immigration)......

...also the controversial Andrew Bolt - and "motor mouth" Alan Jones ....also the myriads of Aussies who have "opinions" also ....... the list goes on!

...I beg to question this: -

..... last night on Q. & A. I heard the word "Radicalisation" like 20 times - in the first 15 mins of the debate!! ... and maybe 30 times later on ..... I also heard that Teachers/Clerics etc. should be "schooling" kids in classrooms with a subject called "De-radicalisation"!!??? What??? Excuse me??  Like they do not have enough to do already?

Why - I ask?  There must be seriously something very WRONG in our society today to even have to question or use the word "RADICALISATION"???

Classrooms/Teachers.... 10 years ago - never had to deal with this rubbish? Why now??

Not sure to be honest where I stand as a person on this one - BUT - it "ain't getting any better" !!!!!!

Sad how our "wonderful world" has become!

I think the point made earlier about Sam Dastyari is relevant as it points to an overarching global reign of terror. Why is Sam more comfortable in eluding to being a Muslim when taking a political fight to Pauline Hanson? Why is he very uncomfortable about denouncing Islam like many others in Australia. This is real fear and terror at work.

Recently a man loaded some gas bottles into his car, set it alight, then drove into the Merrylands Police station. Police were quick to make the statement....it's ok folks this is not terror. Should we feel relieved? Meanwhile at the nearby school, once attended by the murderer of police accountant Curtis Cheng, students are rebellious and abusive toward police. Is this also not an act of terror?

If Sam Dastyari becomes a muslim when it suits his political agenda then we dont have a problem. But, if he is feerful of being honest about denouncing his Islamic faith then that is a canary falling in the mineshaft.

I have no idea what that post is about.

OK, most of it is that Frank hates Dastyari becasue he's in the ALP.

But the Merrylands thing? WTF? Absolutely nothing to do with Islam, the topic of this thread.

And some teenagers are rebellious. Wow!

Frank, what IS your point? (Apart from hating the ALP?)

ha ha ha! Barak, I see you have fallen for the trap most of us do. You are suggesting the word terror has become synomous with only those of the muslim faith. This man was Slovenian or Yugoslavian I think? So how could he commit an act of terror? Do you think that people with that mindset are bigots?

Frank, as usual you are on completely the wrong track. Your position switches and argument reversals are only matched by the Liberal Party.

The man was Czeck, but I know facts don't often bother you.

And I have no idea of his motives. Do you? That is a key element of terrorism. Wanting to instil terror in the broader population. We don't know why he did it, so we cannot automatically say that incident was terrorism.

He was mentally ill. I guess one could argue that all bigots are mentally ill.

"Classrooms/Teachers.... 10 years ago - never had to deal with this rubbish? Why now??  "

According to news reports the gunman was GERMAN/IRANIAN.

Pepe, I think you're talking about something that nobody else has yet mentioned in this thread, the killings in Munich yesterday. That's NOT what the above discussion was about.

Given that this event is very recent, and the number of alleged shooters has already changed in reports from three to one, let's wait for the dust to settle before we jump to conclusions, or even believe what "current" reports claim.

"Classrooms/Teachers.... 10 years ago - never had to deal with this rubbish? Why now??  "

Correct...I was referring to the Munich shooting...I should have prefaced my comment.

That's ok Pepe, there are that many terrorist acts that it is easy to mix them. I think about 30,000 innocent people have orrbeen killed by "terrorism" during the last 15 years.

Are you including American mass killings in that number Frank?

"Classrooms/Teachers.... 10 years ago - never had to deal with this rubbish? Why now??  "

Frank, I was sitting here pondering this latest shooting....it is all so senseless...nine killed  or whatever the number ...and the shooter ended up shooting himself.  No point to it at all.

I read where neighbours said he was a quiet person...seems to follow a pattern with some of these killers

I just cannot fathom how someone can just do that to fellow human beings.  It is all too sad...so many people affected and ripples spread so far.

Pepe

It is typical human behaviour .. to plunder, kill and destroy.

Good they caught the ten in Rio that were going to menace the Olympic Games

Abby...I sincerely hope there are not "others" in Rio to take their place.

Did anyone say the Rio arrestees were Muslim?

I ask becasue of the topic of this thread.

"Classrooms/Teachers.... 10 years ago - never had to deal with this rubbish? Why now??  "

"The teen gunman who killed 10 people in a rampage in Munich was "deranged", police say, linking his actions to Norwegian far-right mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik rather than Islamic State jihadists....

"the link is evident" with Breivik's massacre of 77 people, which took place exactly five years ago.

Most of the victims in Friday's attack were foreigners, including three Turkish nationals, three people from Kosovo and a Greek man."

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-07-23/no-evidence-of-links-between-munich-gunman-and-is:-police/7655364

So, nasty, but nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

Abby - your posting pattern this morning is weird. I don't get it.

"At least 80 people have been killed and 231 others injured in twin suicide bombings at a demonstration in Kabul, officials say, the deadliest attack in Afghanistan since 2001."

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-07-24/kabul-attack-islamic-state-claims-suicide-bombing/7655470

The victims of this are Muslims. They will readily tell you that the bombers aren't.

.... why don't you "get it" Barak?  I do!  Abby does .....

What do I have to get Foxy?

... 7 hours ago Barak - you said "I don't get it" - surely a smart intelligent man like yourself - can work out Abby's posts?  :-)

Nah. Different wavelengths, I suspect.
