Northern Territory election

The CLP, the Northern Territory's version of the LNP, has lost the election held today.

By a lot. Maybe an 18% swing aginst it.

Malcolm won't be happy. But he'll say it was all to do with local issues.

Wow, three seats predicted for the CLP, out of 25. Not good for them.

Would have thought that the Independents would have done better ?

...and that is just what our MP said to Barrie Cassidy on Insiders today - local issues

Well spotted Barak

Thought 1Territory would also have done better

Michael Gunner  ..NT Chief Minister

Lets hope he is able to stop the lease of the Darwin Port.

Educate me Abby, I thought the 99year lease was all done

And if not, why didn't our PM stop it as it was clear Turnbull was unimpressed about it

NOT a teacher .. ask Barak :)

That's a stupid comment to make abby. Not sticking up for the ole Barak, but teachers don't know everything.

I am a teacher (lecturer) too and I didn't know about William Barak, so thanks to all concerned I am a little bit wiser about Aussie history.

Waddayamean I don't know everything?

Nah. You're right. I don't. Not even in the subjects I teach, especially with one of them being Information Technology. Changing all the time, and everyone's a specialist of some kind. And Maths is just an incredibly deep area. SO much to learn.

But learning is good.

Loyalty is a wonderful thing.  The way that the right wing parties have been performing in the last 2 or 3 years, in NT, I am somewhat surprised that they have won a single seat.

Just heard on ABC News that the non-Labor and non-CLP members might combine to form the official Opposition, since they would have more seats than the CLP.

After deposing the leader while he was abroad the CLP just went from bad to a rabble.

This totally dispels the stupid belief that people who vote Liberal are all "rusted on".

Only a fool would have voted for them this time around.

Well, 32% of the voters still did vote CLP.

Can I call them rusted-on fools?
