"CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY" - CHATSWOOD - N.S.W.

.... has just opened it's new $57 MILLION Australian HQ in Chatswood - N.S.W.

It's en-suite living quarters are "luxury to the max." and even more luxurious quarters have been designed to house Celebrity members who will visit ...  i.e. Tom Cruise and John Travlota etc.!

Dozens of residents objected to the "Church" -  but lost at Council after many meetings!  (Of course!!!) Money "talks"!!!

This clandestine "church" has been marred with allegations of abuse/mental abuse/sexual abuse and fraud over many years!

Senior Ministry - will charge "members" thousands of dollars for what are called "Auditing Sessions" which are designed to supress the side of the brain that is not mathematical or pragmatic!  What a joke!

IMO - the members "brains" have already been supressed to be part of this inane Sect.  - so why pay thousands of dollars to prove what you already are?  -  a total moron!

...heard the other day that a crowd called "Landmark" are a newish  "stepping-stone"  for the Church of Scientology ..... they get in younger people with their weekly meetings with a "mild" form of brainwashing and of course - donations!

One has recently opened up in South Melbourne (so I am told?) ........

All religions should have to pay Tax like other companies ... then the Government might have enough money to pay the pensioners adequately.

Yeah -  well most people think the Church's should be taxed!  Thing is - the damn laws are sooooo outdated and soooooo  old and need to be brought into line with today!!

The law - in so many instances - needs one big "modern"  overhaul!!

FOXY,   where did you hear of the one in SOUTH MELBOURNE,  ? HAVENT seen or heard anything,    but then,  i dont get around as much as i used to,

Ohhhh Cats - didn't know you wanted to go there???  hahahahaa just teasing ya!!!  It's at 151 Sturt Street, Sth. Melb.    Isn't that near the Market???

Please have a read of this...on today's news for those who are interested.

See what happened to one poor chap who fell foul of them.

I intend to get a copy of this book and have a good read.

The Catholic Church seems to capture the gullible for life too.

Radish will read that as soon as I get time,  Thanks

I think all churches capture the gullible Barak --- why you need a CHURCH to act in a moral and decent way I will never understand

People don't need a Church to act in a moral and decent way at all. Many church goers are just the same as people who do NOT go to church when it comes to being decent and moral. There are many other reasons why people go to church and the majority are NOT "gullible."

I humbly disagree.

So you're saying people need a Church to be moral and decent?

I was responding to your final five words.

Customers are gullible. People are gullible across the board. Why pick out people who go to church, makes no sense.

People are gullible when they believe the quacks on google; when they read and believe stuff in the newspapers without checking background history and we get a lot of that.

People are gullible when they go into a supermarket and choose one product over another. People from all walks of life are gullible.

You are being gullible right now by believing all church goers are gullible.

This is not a personal attack on you because you are a teacher, but, research shows teachers are among the most gullible of the professions. I’m sure you’ve heard of “initiative overload.”

No, I haven't. Educate me.

Have to prepare for a class. Google it, well worth the effort.

Hahahaa -  off to prepare a class for what?  The "gullible" ?????

Good to see you back Barak even though we tend to "butt heads" at times!   :-)

Banjo - do you try really hard to sound arrogant and ignorant?

To "ignorant" people it might seem one is "arrogant".

So are you going to share your superior knowledge with us? Or just act like a know-all?

Impressed with your rudeness Barak !!  Nice!

Hey. Banjo declared knowledge of something I admitted I didn't know. I asked about it. He ran away.

Weird.

I was referring to my post to you 3 hours ago.   I could not care less how rude you are to Banjo/Thea/Cranky/Fleur etc. etc.  - and whatever other Avatar this "nutter" posts under!   Forget it!   lol

Ohhhhh - I forgot to add the name "Reagen" silly me!  Offended I forgot the name?  Sooooooo sorry!

Far from "mad" - just as intelligent as lots of other people! lol lol

Some of the cleverest people I know are quite mad.

Only if they've got brains to support their madness.

Troll

I don't believe in flying saucers , Jesus Christ, Scientology science fiction , Animalism,  Socialism, Mohamed,  the old testament , the New Testament , Smith , Jones , Marx , Global Warming or any other man made religion

It never crossed my mind before that global warming was a man made religion but when you think about it, that's really what it is.

No it's not. It's reality, and science. It's a sad indictment on our education system and media that you think otherwise.

Perhaps it's a "cult" Toot.

The religion had a name change when it became apparent that "global Warming" was a misnomer. If you wish to pray with this group now, they are known as "Climate Change Believers."

Looks like another example of a failed science education.

That's a modern cult.

The sea has been rising for thousands of years. When Australia was first populated around 60,000 years ago, you could walk from New Guinea to Cape  York or from Victoria to Tasmania.

And your science qualifications are?

Wouldn't mind reading Steve Kinnane's latest book 'Fair Game' released in the past couple of days, which as I understand it sheds new light on Scientology's infiltration into all sorts of sectors of the Oz community i.e. media, sport, politics etc. etc.

But there are fundamentalist cults in most Australian towns and cities be it Christian, Islam or whatever - which operate on much the same control-freaking, exploitative, love-bombing, brainwashing level as Scientology - all should be thoroughly investigated and outted as having the potential for real damage and have as their gurus 'messiah complexed nutters' hellbent on exploiting others for personal gain.

Fundamental Extremism is the danger in all religions.

Tax free status of religions is a disgrace and must be changed.

Where would you draw the line for your thorough investigation? Why should ANY religion be excluded from it?

Everyone should contact Nick Zenephon (who has had them in his sights for ages)  and also your local Federal member and say you want their tax free status removed.  Also any other cults posing as religious organisations.

..... stick the word "Church" somewhere in the name and you are tax free - easy peasy - it's a wonder more businesses don't do it?   Church of David Jones - Church of Kentucky Fried Chicken etc. etc.      - lol lol lol .....

Radish - is Catholicism a cult?

If not, why not?

also Foxy, (after seeing that woman called Ashy and her enraptured keep fit followers on Sunday Night) the Church of Ashy.  Shows how easily you can brainwash people.

Yes, it IS easy.

Anyone believing in any religion, or who always votes for the same political party, is brainwashed.

Anyone who repeats the same c**p day after day is "brainwashed

Barak I agree totally -- also

Awwwwwww poooooooooor Banjo!  I guessed something was always amiss with you - now I know!    :-(

We don't have  to "guess" where you're concerned, we know there is!!!!!

Female Troll     lol

The breakfast food giant doesn't pay company tax because of its owner's charitable status. Christopher Adams finds there are some questions about why it is investing some of its cash overseas.

Down any New Zealand supermarket's breakfast cereal aisle, there's one company that dominates the shelves.

Sanitarium - the maker of Kiwi staples Weet-Bix and Skippy Cornflakes - has evolved into a giant of the local food manufacturing sector over the last century.

The Royal Oak-based firm says its share of the New Zealand cereal market sits at about 35 per cent, while Kellogg's, its nearest rival, holds roughly 23 per cent.

Sanitarium's ownership structure, however, sets the company apart from its multi-national competitors such as Kellogg's, Kraft and Nestle, which are publicly listed.

Wholly owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Sanitarium's arms on both sides of the Tasman are exempt from paying company tax on their earnings because their profits help fund the church's charitable and religious activities.

I'm A Christian, and believe that the church should pay its way like everyone, NO DEALS with Caesar, and pay custom (tax to whom tax is due) give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God. Deals with Caesar compromises the faith..

I don't do 'religion' I just tell of the Cross, the good news of the gospel.

As to Scientology? well they should be locked up and the key thrown away, Hubbard in the Cupboard, ha ha ha

All who peddle religion should be locked up Pixie

lol - first time I knew you had any humour Pixa? That's funny ......     lol
