Aldi

aldi

Aldi have opened a number of stores in WA but the problem most have is knowing what is good and what is not so good.

Did a bit of searching around and found this forum gives out some good information and have made a list myself of what to try.

Others may also find of interest if you are new to shopping at their stores.

The forum I go to is forums.whirlpool.net.au  you can put in a search for aldi there or anything else you want to know about.

I have gone to the nearest Aldi Store near my place but got put off buying anything because I didn't realise I had to take my own shopping bag or buy one of theirs. I buy most of my Fruit and Veges. from TRIM Fruit and Veg. Their stock is always fresh and more value for your money. They also sell a wonderful variety of continental goods from many countries.

To be quite fair..I've only ever visited one Aldi and that  was when they opened in WA recently...just out of curiosity.

In a nutshell..I loathed the one I visited...it seemed such  a jumble...I didn't buy a thing but was fascinated by the intense looks on the faces of the Aldi lovers. They really think they're getting huge bargains and I have found out recently...they are not.

Worst of  all...I couldn't get out of the darn shop...it seems once you're in that's it..or you have to squeeze past a long row of trolleys..call over one of the employees and demand to be let out!!

Noooo...think I'll stick to Coles..

We are Aldi customers, have been right from the start, we had our doubts but they were soon dispersed after our shopping started to cost less with the same quality, their fruit and vegs and meat can't be beaten for price and quality and there isn't much they don't stock now and like all good big stores if you have a problem there is no question with exchange or refund.

The only products that I dislike is their baked beans and tomato sauce.

You still can not buy everything that you need but you will save at least 25% on your weekly purchases.

thanks for that CRANKY,    i will try coles,    safeway have let me down once to often,    and i do prefer coles anyway,   but one reason i stayed with safeway was they sell the half legs of lamb,   which are ample for the two of us and the dog,   other supermarkets dont seem to have them,   at least not here,    i know i could get a full leg and freeze,   but i like to have fresh food,    and now i no longer work,   have plenty of time ,   but i hate cooking now,    as i worked almost my entire working life as a cook,   it is a chore to me now,      im waiting for the day we only have to swallow a pill    wont be long,

Aldi's great, so glad there is an alternative to the blood sucking Woolworths.  I have found, Aldi's stock of good quality. Their electronic goods are of dubious quality, I've found that if a warranty of two years plus is offered then the quality is usually good, if not be very wary.

What garbage.People are badly misled when saying Aldi is cheaper. What are they comparing? National brands from Coles and Woolies against generic brands at Aldi?. Of course if they thought to compare generic against generic,  coles and woolies would be found to be cheaper. Also we get an Aldi catalogue once a week, and our nearest Aldi is 50km away, so when we go to but that catalogue special we are told that one finished last Wednesday, and that one doesnt start until Saturday. We dont even bother looking at their catalogues anymore, and we found Aldi doesnt have a very great range, so we still had to go and finish our shopping at Woolies, so why even go there in the first place?
