Craig Thomon running migrant placement scheme
Disgraced former federal MP Craig Thomson is running a migrant worker placement business from his home base on the NSW central coast, offering incentives which appear to exploit loopholes in laws designed to crack down on the abuse of visa schemes in regional Australia.
Mr Thomson - who last year said he was too broke to repay his former union hundreds of thousands of dollars he owes it for credit card abuse - is offering cafes and restaurants near his home several thousand dollars to take workers on temporary 457 visas or via the more permanent Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme.

Should he be doing this?
Toot _ I read that article with disgust. There is no way he should be allowed to run a business like that. My grand daughter lives on the Central Coast and is looking for work, she is only 20 and is finding it very difficult. How can she expect to get a job when she is up against 457 visas or via the more permanent Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme. I say Aussie jobs for permanent Aussie residents. Craig Thompson should be never allowed to run a business until he pays back all those hundreds of thousands of dollars he owes unions for credit card abuse.
