No different to driving his family about ... it is most probably good this sort of things happen .... at least the public get to see the perks our overgoverned country has

... at least Bronwyn was going to work whereas this so called minister was travelling to and from his estate.

Bronwyn wasn't going to work.

And why has he not been asked to resign?  Mates looking after mates.......until defrocked by the media when they have nowhere left to hide.

Heard on the news this morning that Herbert "forgot" to put his country house (to which the dogs were chauffered) on his register of assets.

This bozo claims he forgot because he has been under too much stress because of his job. IF HE CAN'T PERFORM HIS DUTIES GET RID OF HIM!

I agree.

It does't matter which party - these "perks" are highway robbery. Every politician should not only be made to pay back what they pilfered from the public purse but in some cases sacked. Maybe that's the only way to get the message through.

In my opinion the perks should not exist ... they should be like other public servants .. claim their expenses through the taxation Dept.

With the three tiered government + commitments to UN we have too much Royalty to look after.

He DID apologise which, by government policy, means he is absolved from all fault, has a new and clean slate, and can do it again without reprimand, penalty, or need for apology. The chauffeur was ALSO used as a dog-walker. This government is the pits!

Correction: This government is not the "pits". ALL governments that allow this sort of thing are the "pits". They are all guilty.

Yes.

Fast Eddie, please note the title of the thread.

It is good that as a  result  my chauffer knows to transport my cats an doggie.s to an from their manshun as soon as reqd

"Manshun" are you a lesbian?

"manshun"  had to read it a couple of times ....hillarious

.... no offence meant Monika

Can someone please tell me why we allow it? We have the power! The pen is mightier than the sword, so come on people put pen to paper ( or e-pen to e-paper ) and tell Mr Andrews what we want to see happen. Just bitching about it amongst ourselves is not going to get the job done but will only see this type of theft continue. Let's join forces and do something constructive. Enough is enough!

We've had two goes at running our own member in Politics but in both cases were unable to raise the number required.

Yes it would help if the Seniors had a voice in the Parliament .. but most of the Seniors are too rusted on and both the major parties know this....

Yes, we certainly have some hard-core, rusted-ons here, mostly on the conservative side. Those who don't vote LNP tend to spread their votes around a little more.

One "Seniors" party I can recall was actually a racist, gun-loving nutters' party One doesn't have to be rusted on to anything to choose not to vote for them.

Most retirees I know have no interest in getting involved in anything other than social activities once they retire.

They are golfing, caravanning, going on cruises and generally enjoying themselves for what little time they have left on this earth.

Who needs any more stress in their lives;  I could not be bothered myself.

Seems like they are all dishonest immoral scum

This thread was a big test for some here. I am frequently called a Labor supporter.  Hasn't happened here.

I wonder if the change will be permanent?

No excuse for this behaviour and easily fixed. No driver for MPs unless it for travel to and from work from the domestic home or to official functions/business. I am assuming its only ministers who get a driver as I am fairly sure the rest do not.

pancakes

This dill has finally resigned his ministerial post, and declared he won't stand for his seat next time round.

He will be able to spend more time with his dogs now.

This kind of arrogant stupidity from the establishment parties is what casued Trump.
