The Oxford Dictionary Word of the Year for 2016 is...

Post-truth

"...an adjective defined as ‘relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief’."

"Post-truth", I would see that as a term that denotes a perception of what is thought to be correct before the actual facts are known.  In other words BS.

As demonstrated by Peter Duttons version of the latest Manus Island debacle.  A five year old boy that was molested, becomes a ten yer old boy who was given a bag of food in full view of the public. Scource, the Police Chief in charge of the investigation, proof, Duttons ineffectual response when asked to verify his information.  Except of course he was not just mistaken, he would not admit the truth when the lie was exposed.

"Children Overboard" anyone.

Post-truth politics at its best.

Shorten is post truth reincarnated .
