These events always make me feel just that little bit older.

It's always sad when actors of our era depart this world, but I have to be honest, I am English born and Bred, but could not stand "Faulty Towers" 'Watching that show grated so much on my nerves  it was like scraping your fingernails down a blackboard.

A classic bully, a whinging wife, a parrot and an Italian doormat all living in a state of chaos...

There won't be many left soon as they are all making their up the final staircase.. :(

I loved Fawlty Towers. By coincidence my husband looked a lot like John Cleese and people used to think he was Basil himself. When I was upset with him I used to do a Sybil and screech 'Basil'.

I really appreciate the nuances that both Cleese's script and Andrew Sachs brought to the character of Manuel. Saw an interview with John Cleese who said the character came about because when the show was conceived a large number of staff working in hotels had English as a second language. He saw comedic potential in the misunderstandings that arose as a consequence.

He also pointed out that the eternal optimism of Manuel added poignancy to the character.

I for one will miss him.

Loved this show...still do. My favourites were Manuel and Polly..

...... LOW intelligence shows for the obvious same audience!   Enough said ...... lol lol lol

Que?

Ah, si si

I'm planning to model my senior years on the Major.

Good choice...the Major was a bumbling (got a screw loose) sort of English gentleman who hated foreigners in general and found solace and great pleasure in searching for cricket news in the daily newspapers...even when the cricket wasn't on...

I think that you could all get parts in a remake without acting

:) OK Campbell, fair enough ... what is your list of casting characters?

Do you have a part? If so, what is it?

Dead pigeon in the water tank.

That's extremely cheeky Barak. But then again ... it's one step up from the dead kipper.

Going to get a chair and a cuppa, this should be entertainment at its best.....lolol
