ABC presenter in hot water over ANZAC day post

ABC presenter Yassmin Abdel-Magied caused controversy yesterday with a Facebook post suggesting Australians should also remember those suffering on Manus Island, Nauru, in Syria and Palestine.

Ms Abdel-Magied wrote on her Facebook page "LEST. WE. FORGET. (Manus, Nauru, Syria, Palestine …)".

Ms Abdel-Magied received more than 2000 comments on the post, largely negative. Ms Abdel-Magied later edited the post to say 'Lest we forget.' and issued an apology.

"It was brought to my attention that my last post was disrespectful, and for that, I apologise unreservedly," she wrote.

The apology caused further reaction with many asking how Abdel-Magied wasn't able to work out for herself that the post was disrespectful.

What do you think? Was her post disrespectful?

yasmin magpie is an airhead - don't waste  your time.

God bless all those that have died and fought for this country.

Today the biggest threat is from within our own borders. This Government website draws attention to the ongoing threat of terrorism in Australia. The majority of the listed organisations have a common purpose, which needs no further explanation.  Most of them almost certainly are operating here somewhere in Australia, but of course for security reasons the Government will not say where. Yet the same Government(s) is opening its arms to so-called refugees who are active adherents to the laws of Islam. The chances of terrorists being brought in masquerading as regugees is very high.  Added to this most will not or have no intention of assimilating or accepting our customs/laws and are progressively demanding that their laws be incorporated into ours.  Obviouilsy our Government has a conflict of interest in this regard. DO you trust your Government to protect you?

I certainly don't trust a Labor Govt . Who in their own words let in 50,000 unauthorised arrivals . Let the majority loose in the community without security checks and opened 17 internment camps . 15 on the mainland .

This woman knew exactly that type of reaction would arise from her comment. She is a muslim first and foremost and her allegience lies with Islam.  The rot has set in and it will not be long before any criticism of this group will be a criminal offence. Yet  muslims have a free hand to criticise and promote their hideous ideology without intervention.  2% (?) of the population attempting to upstage our most revered day. The future does not bode well for Australia.

Muslim activist Yassmin Abdel-Magied who recently came under fire for her 'disrespectful' Anzac Day comments went on a government-funded book tour of the Middle East which cost taxpayers more than $11,000.

The book tour in late 2016 took the ABC broadcaster to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, the West Bank, Israel, Egypt and Sudan and was paid for by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, The Australian reported.

The department has confirmed the Middle East visit cost $11,485, including Ms Abdel-Magied's travel at $3246.20, accommodation for $4605.87 and $3632.93 for 'incidentals'Activist Yassmin Abdel-Magied (pictured on her book tour last November) went on a government-funded book tour of the Middle East which cost taxpayers more than $11,The department confirmed the Muslim activist did not condemn practices like female genital mutilation and the death penalty during the tour for her book, 'Yassmin's Story'

The department also confirmed that the Muslim activist did not condemn practices like female genital mutilation and the death penalty during the tour for her book, 'Yassmin's Story'.

In Sudan, one of the countries she visited, 90 per cent of women are impacted by genital mutilation, while forced marriage and polygamy for men is recognised.

Promoting her book about being an Australian Sudanese-born woman who wears a hijab, she blogged last November about her upcoming tour trip.

Probably a FGM recipient herself.

Look how happy she is

perhaps there's something to be said for this fgm thingy after all

What really angers me is that Australian feminists say little if nothing to condemn this practice, underage brides, multiple wives, male (muslim) domination of their women.   Same as other femimists in the West.  Governments as well know this is happening but seem to turn a blind eye. Why is this so?
