Time magazine calls out Trump’s fake news

American President Donald Trump is big on calling out ‘fake news’, but now he has been caught out manufacturing his own stories.

The Washington Post has broken a story that the Time magazine cover hang in a number of Trump-owned golf resorts is nothing but a fake.

The cover, dated March 1, 2009, gives the impression that Trump was a big enough deal to get a Time front cover well before his presidential career.

Despite a number of style issues that make it an obvious fake, Time never even published an issue on March 1, 2009 (that week’s issue came out on March 2).

Since the fake has been discovered, Time magazine has asked the Trump organisation to remove the phony cover from all the walls where it is displayed.

Can you believe anything President Trump says? Is he responsible for more fake news than any other source.

Do you call the pro right wing stories "fake"? These are rolled out in Australia routinely during election campaigns and anybody doubting this needds to watche Seven or Nine News and see for themselves. Better still record how many times the PM is advertised at children's schools and hospitals compared to thr oppposition leader.  Then record the promotion each side gets as well as the attack on the other.  Over a period of 2 months the results are astounding and clear:  FAKE NEWS and media propaganda.  Don't believe me, do it!

At least in America bith sides have a fairer go.  Not in Oz!

What "pro right wing stories" Mick. Can you name a few? At least one?

You may agree or not but President Trump has done more for the American people and beyond in a few months which his predecessor Obama was unable to achieve in 8 years in office. Obama divide the Nation like other president before or after him. CNN have been caught out on broadcasting fake news relating to President Trump. If only Australia had a leader such as he.

Time will tell.!!!!!!!!

The Washington Post calling out "Fake News". Oh, come ON! I'm a retired Aussie repat (ex health professional), living with my wife in Oregon since 2013. This is the Washington Post that stated, 24 hours before the election "Clinton 90% Trump 6%". The Post, New York Times, et al, all march to the tune of the American Military/Industrial Complex. As far as news is concerned, they have about as much credibility as the old Melbourne Truth!

Sorry folks! I meant "expat" not "repat". Sorry for my unintentional bit of "fake news". LOL

Oz in Or , you are forgiven this TIME. lol

Thanks niemakawa! :o)

I wouldn't call it "fake" news. It's no news at all only the act of an incredibly stupid man and a real tragedy that such a dolt is leading the US - perhaps to disaster.

President Trump, the Messiah, the leader of the free World.  The majority of Americans are very pleased with his Presidency. As a true Australian I am too.

The Pew Research Center is heavily funded by the Times Organization (which of course includes the New York Times) and appears reluctant to provide detailed funding information. You may also notice that this article comes from The Washington Post (enough said). Pew's findings are 1. Invariably quoted in these dubious publications, 2. Generally sensational in nature, 3. Generally biased in their results.

Some prime little snippets from Pew during the run up to the election - Most voters say Trump has little or no respect for nation's democratic institutions. - Trump viewed as 'too personally critical' more than any candidate in decades. - Fewer than half say Trump respects women. - Clinton widely viewed as 'well-qualified';most describe Trump as 'reckless'.

Finally, just one article from the National Public Pension Coalition (USA) is worth a look. https://protectpensions.org/2016/02/24/the-truth-about-the-pew-research-center/
