Hanson wears burqa into Question Time

Just when you think Pauline Hanson can’t sink any lower, she plumbs new depths.

During Question Time in the Senate today, the One Nation senator came in wearing a black burqa.

In a stunt to draw attention to her push to ban the face covering, Hanson entered the chamber wearing the shroud. It left her Senate colleagues shocked.

George Brandis slammed the Queensland senator’s inappropriate actions and received a standing ovation from the ALP and Greens senators watching on.

"I'm not going to pretend to ignore the stunt you tried to pull today," Brandis said.

"We all know you are not an adherent to the Islamic faith. I caution and counsel you, with respect, to be very careful of the offence you may do to the religious sensibilities of other Australians.

"We have about half a million Australians in this country of the Islamic faith, and the vast majority are good, law-abiding Australians.

“To ridicule that (Muslim) community, to drive it into a corner, to mock its religious garments is an appalling thing to do and I would ask you to reflect on what you have done,” Mr Brandis said in an emotional speech.

What do you think of Pauline Hanson’s stunt? Has she gone too far this time?

I wonder how Greens Senator Peter Whish-Wilson, who went out of his way to shake hands with burqua-clad Pauline saying 'good on you,' felt once she removed it. Was he one of the clowns applauding Brandis's outburst?

Brandis has shown his complete ignorance as the burqua is NOT part of Koran doctrine

Motor cyclists have to remove their helmets when entering banks and shops.

This so CCTV and other folk can see them and hopefully see that they are ok.

Under a burqa there is most likely a muslim female but it could a male or a robber or hit man or clown or a transvestite or Ned Kelly. They must be banned in public particulary in this the present terrorist climate or suffer the stupidity and death by allowing easy bomb hiding to occur.

Remember my words when the sh%t hits the fan here in OZ.

The Polticians have their scripts already prepared for the occasion.

A PC script no doubt

always a pc script

their speeches when such events occur are empty and hollow

Of course, our (most) Politicans are weak, self-serving and dare I say quislings to boot.

Reading all the comments from so-called  world "leaders" they  are nothing but sugar coating to appease those that commit these atrocities. There are a few exeptions.

Real action by Patriotic politicians will only end this madness. Flowers and candles are a waste of time as is all the rhetoric that erupts from the mouths of incompetent people who are supposed to protect us.

In Australia people who cover their identity have something to hide. It's that simple.

she only said what most think,     AND she was veteted before she went in,   so security knew who it was,

What most think??? Who told you that? The tabby next  door?

Put your manners back in buzzard

Nice talk for a chook, hmmm

maybe if you came down from the clouds RAY,     and listened to the ordinary folk,   you would realise just how many people aggree with her,    ,    the man in the street is sick of having to change there ways to suit these imigrants/refuggees,    call them what you want,       but most like things the way they are,    and dont want to change to suit  others,      and why should they,

As I said in my earlier comment one day ago, Australia is being destroyed fast, something needs to be done right now, the pussyfooting politicians need to listen to what Australia people want in their country, before long the chances of Australian people’s voice being heard will be supressed by the fast-grown Muslim community who will never adapt to our way of life, the life we have had for decades.

Some people say what they think with conviction Senators Pauline Hanson, Cory Bernardi and Dick Smith to name just a few, we need to stand by them.

There are other issues that need addressed such as the selling off our Land and Real Estate to foreign inventors.

I do what I do and say for the love of my children, grandchildren and true Australians’, I’m considered an old man, however I still have a brain and a tongue and I convinced that we baby boomers can make the correct things happen.

Agree ET

dont know how kids on single income can afford to buy a decent place in sydney

unless their parents are able to help

not too sure if this is all foreign investment driven though

There are two contentious issues facing the Australian people, today,  one being the Burqa/mass immigration of muslims and the other SSM. The Government has only one real option, the people must decide on both and only a referendum will resolve them. I will accept the result no matter what it may be.

I am white European and very proud to be so now and of my European (Christian) heritage. Too many white people today have been led falsely ,by their leaders, and others   to believe that all other cultures are worth preserving even if that means the destruction of our own.  The continued self-loathing , self-distrust and guilt for its (European)  past has persuaded many white people to disown their own heritage and even go further by attesting to destroy any remnants and brush aside all the achievements of the European civilisation.

No other culture has such a strong desire to commit such an act of suicide by  allowing other cultures to have such a dominant role in their way of life when living in a foreign land.  It seems that anyone can be European, regardless of colour or faith, yet on the other hand a white person living in say China or India would never be considered to be Chinese or Indian.

Being white and proud of it is now considered to be racist in many quarters of our society.  This analogy is not only wrong but an insult to European culture.

I want my European culture not only to survive but be put on an equal footing with other cultures that are so heralded by many political leaders today.

The Burqa is alien to our society as is Islam itself. Yet we are pressured to accept this in a blatant attempt to thrust upon cultures that do not identify with European culture, value and respect them and at the same time neglecting and in many ways demolishing  our own.

Many Australian politicians are heavily involved in this destruction process.

Unfortunately the white western european is a dying specie

Suze, it does not have to be  or must not be that way. Have you thrown in the towel? Despite what some may think of Ms Hanson she wears her heart on her sleeve, as I do.

Do not forsake your heritage and culture.

Some women should have their faces covered

dont want to traumatize kids for life

only la familia should see their faces

maybe burkas for men,  raph.    not only women,   seen some pretty ugly old men around,

Yes. Agreed. We know that now - a day later. But, was he wearing a burqa? Again, I draw reference to your tendency to lump anyone who may disagree or question you as a lslamic sympathisers, or lefties, or gay lovers, or greenies, or hippies, or anything else which can bundled into a convenient negative stereotype peeled from the OneNation website. The world is far more complex than carrying out a few populist PH hate policies and assuming everything will be fine. By the way, what happened to her previous mantra of being swamped by Asians?

Well we are ALSO being swamped by Asians too

Crowcrag, your hatred of Pauline Hanson is evident, but what do you think of people concealing their identity and taking advantage of Australia's envious multicultural acceptance in order to do so?

Australia has a kind generous heart, however, if we are to stay that way we need to call a spade a spade.

I read in the Guardian that residents of Asian descent make up Australia’s fastest-growing demographic and represent more than the 12% of the population.

Pauline wore a burqa to prove a point.

Are you all to stupid to see that?

YES

At least she has the guts to voice the concerns of a significant many Australians: this is their job, to represent the people. Once elected, they'll only represent themselves. Its all a weak pretence, as per comments already registered above, i.e. self serving.

More proof has been demonstrated that the libs are drifting left, where the electoral vote is shifting...all so they keep their votes and jobs.

Another gem from a PM (Polish) who sees it as it is. Pauline Hanson would make a fine leader of Australia as she is one of a very few politicians that does not have her head in the clouds.

The Australian media as elsewhere in the West are not giving us the information that we need to really know how serious is the problem with Islam and how  its followers of this ideology are given free rein to act against us. Islam will be defeated but at what costs? Our Government has it within its power to stop further immigration of muslims to this country. Yet they do nothing, so are as guilty as the muslim terrorists in causing harm and the killing of our own citizens.

Today another attack in Europe, Marseille, France. Considering that muslims represent at least 25 % of the population in that city it is almost certain that this is terrorist attack committed by a muslim.

The burqa is in my opinion an attack on the Western values and along with Islam itself must be banned in Australia. Neither represents a religion let alone an rop as so often is spoken by many of our politicians. Islam has no place and never has had in a civilised world.

“Speaking to public broadcaster TVP Info on Saturday evening, Szyd?o said that Europe “must not be afraid to talk about terrorism” and should “finally replace political correctness with common sense.”

She made the comment when asked what Europe should do to prevent more terrorist acts like those in Spain where at least 14 people were killed and more than 100 others injured in two separate attacks on Thursday.

"There is no price at which the safety of the Polish people could be sold, so the most important thing for me today is to have partners in Europe, among the European elites, to talk about what should be done to combat terrorism," Szyd?o said.”

ANsYONE,    who has any doubts on what most aussies think ,   re pauline hanson,    needs to read todays issue   [aughust 21st]   of the sun paper,    and look at the 50/50 pages,    letters written in by the public,        theres your answer,       if we were polled tomorrow she would be in like flinn,

Most certainly she would. The Green SHY has spoken and said that if there is another attack here, then the blame will be on Ms Hanson for wearing the Burqa in a public place. Well most people consider SHY and the Greens nothing more than annoying tooth ache. In actual fact the likes of SHY and the majority of Australian politicians are quislings who intend to Islamise this country.

i dont think the majority of muslums would be to offended at pauline hansen,       in any paper,    or magazine,    on any given day,    there are cartoons and snips at them,    much worse than what she did,     she was only trying to make a point,    some of the so called jokes i have seen could really cause offence,    but no body says anything about them,

sorry for the muslim typo,

Who cares, insignifcant . The attack in Marseille was the job of a French National, so we know what that means. The usual excuse has mental problems. Don't they all .

Mad or bad there is no difference for their behaviour.
