Shorten playing us for mugs

A whole raft of Labor politicians now have serious questions over their citizenship status, including Justine Keay, Susan Lamb, Tony Zappia, Maria Vamvakinou, Katy Gallagher, David Feeney, Brendan O’Connor, Penny Wong, Doug Cameron, Brian Mitchell and Josh Wilson.

Not a single one of those Labor MPs has confessed and resigned.

Opposition Senate leader Penny Wong warned the crossbench: “You’ll keep being lobbied over the Christmas and summer break … I say to the crossbench: if your position on this legislation is that it should be opposed, vote on it now. Don’t allow this government to keep it hanging over your head. Vote on it now so you don’t have to be lobbied about this for the rest of this week and over the summer break, because that’s what will happen.”

Penny Wong was well trained in threats by the CFMEU. What democracy when a bunch of cross benchers elected by a tiny number of primary votes and owe their position to horse trading preferences are bullied by organised crime.

Every foreign link disclosed

This is a list of every foreign link disclosed on the register, collated for the first time.

For each link, the ABC has recorded whether there was documentary evidence provided in the disclosures.

This evidence must be from a reputable third party that answers whether the senator is still eligible for the current Parliament despite the foreign link — for example, a letter from an embassy.

Tax all Unions now! Why are they exempt, when the businesses they compete with aren't???

Too many of the cross benchers have joined the ALP/Greens in the pocket of the unions, like shanghai Sam they all have a very low price to keep their masters happy.

Wowweeeeeee!! ' Industry funds don't want to be forced to operate in the best interests of their members' well I'll be who'd of thought that...

Bill Shorten’s key ally and close friend David Feeney has delivered a blow to Labor’s credibility after being caught out in the widening citizenship scandal, which threatens to spark a series of marginal seat battles with the Coalition and the Greens.

Major flaws in Labor’s candidate-vetting processes, previously lauded by the Opposition Leader as “very strict” and “rigorous”, were exposed last night after five opposition MPs failed to provide clear documentation proving they were not dual citizens.

Mr Shorten faces accusations of dishonesty and hypocrisy over the citizenship crisis, which has so far not led to any Labor MP being referred to the High Court, and could face a tough fight to hold Mr Feeney’s Melbourne seat.

Has Shorten misled parliament as he has the people with his guarantee of his parties vetting being roll gold true

Labor frontbencher Ed Husic has rebuked threats from senior members of his own party to refer Coalition MPs to the High Court if their parents arrived in Australia stateless after the Holocaust.

In a slapdown of Labor’s legal affairs spokesman Mark Dreyfus, Mr Husic said pursuing Josh Frydneberg and Jason Falinski reflected the “delightfully feral state of Australian politics right now”.

The families of Mr Frydenberg and Mr Falinski fled Europe as stateless because they were Jewish and being persecuted by the NAZIS
