I was actually contacted by my Nissan dealer, we arranged a date, were given an estimated completion time and given a hire car to keep us mobile while the job was being done.   Could not be happier, unles of course the defective bag wasn't fitted in the first place.

Radish I did what you did as soon as I knew about the Air bag problem and they tried to put me off too _ did not give up and ended up getting done in a day,  I never put up with being put off, also demand that there is a sticker put on the driver's door frame to show it has been done -- mine was replaced with the same sort -- bit silly IMO

PlanB...yes if you are not assertive in this day and age you get trodden on.  I have learnt that the hard way.  

I dont know if I got the same type of bag but it is done now.  

Honda have contacted me twice about replacement airbags.   Both times I rang the Service dpt, made an appontment, and it was all done within a week each time.

I have no issues with Mazda regarding replacing airbags, the only delay was my own in selecting a suitable day which, incidentally coinsided with a regular service. It was all done in one day and the courtesy car to pick me up to get my car back was really aqpprerciated.

Mine have been done by the mitsubishi dealer and it only takes 10-15 minutes

I received my recall letter from Toyota, rang my dealer, was booked in the following week. There bus takes you to Westfield shopping Ctr with two time choices for pick up to return. With every recall that I have had with my vehicle, which has been three, was the same, got in the following week.
Did ask what type of airbag was used as replacement and was told that it was the same, so????????
