Would you drink recycled sewage water?

Apparently we're going to have to do this.  its just one of the undesirable effects of overpopulation in australia - the driest and least fertile continent of all.

Yet our government (pressured by property developers and big business) keep importing more and more immigrants and do nothing to reduce our high birth rate.  we presently need a new city the size of canberra every year.

Of course, many more of us could have water tanks and use composting toilets.   the latter need to be council-approved of course.  they use no water and produce rich compost.  even the methane gas they also produce can be used.

Too simple and sensible i guess, and the simple way doesn't make profits for the greedy.

I wonder if with the recycled water they are able to get out -- human waste/pesticides/and also the remains of the medication that are taken -- as I know that the medications are having a dreadful effect on marine life  -- and of course fish -- so eating fish could also be a worry

Collect the rain water from your roof into a tank for your personal use.

Lower your water bills.

If you have a home and a tank that is fine but not all people do ....how do people who live in rental accommodation and apartments get on....no tanks there!

Rentals

Get a tank and the plumber will fix a temp fitting to go on drain pipe.Take it with you when you move or sell to next tenant.

Apartment.

Most have a balcony so fix up a catchment tarp and keep in plastic jerry cans.

Had health problems over 25 years ago after our water authority began to purify our once only filtered water with additives. It still smells and tastes awful. A specialist advised me to put in a tank which I have used ever since. Health problem diappeared and tea tasted like tea again.

I totally agree it tastes so much better..tank water...BUT...you must keep your roof clean and make sure your take is well maintained.  We had one at our last home for over 20 years and I miss not having it...but that is how it is and I have to use the scheme water.

I put a cupful of chlorine in each of my three tanks twice a year and this keeps away any nasties. The chlorine evaporates slowly and 5000 gallons to a cup is not over dosing.
