Cull kangaroos?

Heard on the radio this morning, the question of whether to cull kangaroos or not (in Victoria).

What a cheek the kangaroos have got in trying to cross a road!   Let's kill them off as we have so many other species.   How on earth can they be culled anyway?   Is that going to teach the others how to cross a road.   Absolute nonsense.   So a car hits a kangaroo, and the car is a write off, one woman complained.   Claim it on insurance, Madam.

When did you last leave the city Foxy?

Since leaving home we have done 5500 kms over  two and a half weeks.

You city dwellers just don't know what is happening in the bush and are too lazy to come and see.

Hitting a roo at speed could kill you if it came through the windscreen. There are also many wombats emus and domestic animals on our roads searching for grass and water. Most of the country is in DROUGHT but you city slickers don't see or understand that.

I have toured the outback and all over Aussie -- the 1st time in late 50s last time in the mid 2000s and have never hit an Animal yet

5500 klm in town and half weeks Tom!  What did you see -- just the middle line on the road?   I always liked to enjoy the places I travel to and explore.

PlanB … we did a lot of touring too. My husband was hard to stop once he got behind the wheel … he loved driving.

His longest stint was one day when we headed off to Cairns. Started at Terrigal, NSW and he drove to Gin Gin, Qld … 1,200 kilometres in 15 hours, with coffee/meal breaks.

I rebelled and said never again. That certainly was a “middle line on the road” drive. Far too long for me but three weeks around Cairns helped make up for it.

My 1st Husband was a bit that way IF I let him but it was my money I had earned too and I wanted to see what I came a long way to see and we ended up having a real nice time

Good on you PlanB ... we eventually ambled too. Much more pleasant when you can.

Must admit though, totally useless though on the "boring bits" like the 300+ km stretch north of Rockhampton. I used to play "spot the wildlife" ... no luck, not even a crow.

Yes there sure are some darn boring bits RnR

You are wrong Plan B.

4 nights at Coober Peady / 3 at Alice Springs / 2 at Renmark / 2 at Swan Hill and free bush camped for most others. We do not need mains power.

Only drive from 9.00am to 3.00pm normally when going to new places.

Lots of take away foods.

6 restaurant meals and $2000 in fuel.

We swap drivers every time we stop and talk on the CB to trucks and other caravans.

Well pleased to see you did see the country Tom -- had a young friend boast they had been all AROUND AUSSIE in 6 WEEKS !!!!!!  what an utter waste of time.

That 40inch waist must be 45 by now
