Can you spot the mistake in this news report?

Watch the below news report from an American network and see if you can spot the unfortunate mistake.

Journalist Sara Welch explains that “we tried to reach out to the man who died in this pursuit, they were unavailable for comment.”

Unlucky, she would have had quite the scoop had she landed this interview!

What’s the biggest mistake you have seen in a news report?

HaHa!

Dead men tell no tales :)

The ABC chair, Ita Buttrose, its managing director David Anderson and dozens of other staff are going to get together in an off-site meeting, a taxpayer-funded of course which will last for a couple of days.

They are heading off to get in touch with the real Australia because, as one of their executives said, there are some parts of the country they don't serve as well as they should.

And where are they going?

They are going to Bankstown.

Yep, Bankstown.

That's, as the crow flies, about 15 kilometres from the ABC's Ultimo headquarters.

The shortest route by road is about 20 kilometres.

It is a major suburban centre in the same city.

But to the ABC it is a world away.

The national broadcaster's spokesman said they were going to eat in the local restaurants and talk to local people.

Wow.

What a cultural excursion.

Imagine that, Australia's national broadcaster familiarising itself with, Australia.

What a sad indictment of their disconnect from most of the country.

That shows just how far out of touch they are with Australia. Going to eat in local restaurants? Hope they like Halal

food and McDonalds only sell Halal hamburgers. Needless to say they will be introduced to only the best places.

It's quite laughable.  I thought she had more brains than that.

Quite apart from the fact she wanted to interview a dead man, she used the pronoun "they" instead of "he". There was only one so it should have been, "He was unavavilable...."

:) Maybe she's a ghost writer who's grammatically-challenged.

Poor lady, she missed out a few words that's all. I believe she meant to say they tried to reach out to the man previously (before the chase). Then later they may have tried to contact the relatives for comment but they were unavailable.

Who Cares!

I don't.

how I love to see such joy, go on give each other a kiss
