How do they do it?

With a birthday coming up, I put in my order in for my favourite perfume -Thierry Mugler Angel, which my daughters buy from Myers for around $100.  So I was stunned to stumble across a site selling it for $9 plus postage.  My eyes nearly fell out.

The site is called Wish.com

This is how they do it toot. It is legit but I personally wouldn't order anything from them and the perfume is probably fake.  All that is neither here nor there but your personal details are not safe.

Is Personal Data Safe on Wish.com?

One of the biggest concerns some users have about Wish.com is that the site displays full user names on the profiles linked to wish lists. This means that your wish lists aren't private and any items you put on your lists show your real name.

Thanks heaps Reagan, your link was an interesting read, too late to turn back now, have sent the order plus $15 postage this morning, will keep you posted as to how long it takes, and if it's ridgi didge.

Yes toot let me know how you get on. Wish seem to be doing great with headquarters in San Francisco, they even turned down bids from Alibaba and Amazon to take it over for $10 billion in cash, they’re not selling! sounds good!

..... all perfumes on Wish are a "knock-off" fake!  It is however difficult to tell from the original unless you have BOTH bottles together and then it is obvious!

Always wise to read the "customer reviews" when purchasing from sites directly located in China!

In saying that - I have purchased from Wish (gift range) approx. 6 times and have been extremely surprised at not only the low price but believe it or not - the quality of items received!

Only reason I know about the perfume is that a couple of my friends purchased perfume - however it's not that bad (well their brands weren't) so you never know!  Not a lot at stake dollar wise anyway.

Good luck - you may be pleasantly surprised!

Thanks Foxy, will keep fingers crossed.

Thanks for the link toot

Bought a

Yoga Resistance Rubber Band

for $ 4.75 with postage ...due to arrive Nov 10 ... paid with Paypal

That's good Suze, I too paid with Paypal and my money was paid to a company called Contextlogic Australia Pty Ltd.

Presume its a regional offset of the US operation Toot.

Wish, is an online e-commerce platform that facilitates transactions between sellers and buyers. It was founded in 2010 by Piotr Szulczewski (CEO) and Danny Zhang (CTO). Wish is operated by ContextLogic Inc. based in San Francisco, US.

Thanks RnR, look at this lovely ring for $4 plus postage

...haha you getting hooked!  Actually the jewellery and the watch's aren't bad!  I was on their site last year buying a lil gift for a friend whose dear old dog had passed away and she had been looking for something to hang over the dogs framed pic.

.....WISH had little gold plated chains with tiny hearts and paw prints on them - $9!  Got her one - turned out really nice (thought the plating possibly might be "tacky" or brassy looking?)  but no -  looked like 9 ct. gold! I was amazed! Put it in a velvet jewellery bag -  friend loved it!

Easy to become a "Wish tragic" trust me! :)

Did you know if you on the site you can "wait and buy" with other people and it's even cheaper?

I think I'm already a Wish tragic Foxy, so much stuff, the mind boggles. lol

...lol - that pic. of ring (above) is exactly like Meghan Markle's engagement ring (after she decided to add the diamonds around the band of Diana's ring) ...

Lot's of worse things one could be in life other than a "Wish tragic" lol

Great for Xmas gifts but have to order early Nov. to get in time!

I got some solar fairy lights for last Xmas (for outside decking) from them - 250 lights @ $7 - cheaper than Bunnings.  Were great!

I find it hard to understand why anyone would pay $100 for perfume. The best perfumes are oil based and usually cost $10 and last for about 6+ months used every day. I have used them for years and often have people commenting on how lovely my perfume is.

Yay!! each day you log into wish they give you a stamp ... when you collect 7 you get up to 50% off .... should be interesting how that pans out.

....... do you know when the "stamp" offer finishes by any chance?  Sounds good!

Foxy

They give you the info everyday you log in, but it flashed by so quickly today that I was unable to read the info except that I have 4 stamps ???

The thing that I do not like is the words Up to 50% off whatever that means

Anyhow I will continue to log in daily until I gain 7 stamps and see what happens ... if I spot the finishing date of the stamp offer .. will let you know.

...But it costs nothing to log in as long as you don't buy anything LOL

DAILY LOGIN REWARD

Earn up to 50% OFF with 7 Stamps!

Get a stamp each day you visit the Wish App.

Complete by 03 Nov to win

I have made numerous purchases from Wish over a period of  3 years. Only once did I not receive an order and I was given a full refund, no problem. All the things I have bought have been of good quality. I even bought Mimco bags from Wish. When compared with genuine Mimco bags there was absolutely no difference. Except for the price. I’m definitely a Wish fan.

Thanks for your input Janma, good to know you were pleased with their products, hopefully Wish can provide us with some great Christmas gift ideas at bargain prices.

WHY oh why  did you put this WISH thing up?    im a sucker for buying on the nett,    i think i have shares in ebay, lol,   ill have to go look at WISH,      heaven help me,

Know how you feel cats, can't wait for my perfume and ring to arrive, will let you know how they stack up.

I was going to try some of your $9 perfume toot2000

.. But the best I could do was over $40 ???

... must have sold out ?

Oh wow Suze, have no idea, very confusing.

Toot, good luck with the purchase. It does look a bit different to the one below being sold with a starting price of $139 + shipping. Perhaps it's a parallel import and that's why it can be bought at such a reduced price, or maybe it is being discontinued or a straightout fake.

My feedback would be when you start using it do a spot test on your wrist a couple of times and might be a good idea not to dab it behind your ears where the skin is more vulnerable :)

Angel Eau De Parfum Spray 100ml

Thanks Sophie, I have a little bit left of the original bought from David Jones so will be able to compare, wish it would hurry up and arrive. lol

Watching Current Affair last night WISH came up

From what was said definitely do not buy clothing there ... seems they are selling cheap knock-offs

Just an update folks.  Still haven't received my perfume or ring as yet, I have a feeling it will be a long wait. lol

It just arrived and even although it's small (20ml) it's the real thing, I know because I have some already left over to compare.

Bought on 4th October, arrived today 4th November.

Checking the website today they have Angel Thiery Mugler perfume 100 ml for $23 plus $13 postage (that's huge compared to my tiny 20 ml bottle.)

Glad it arrived Toot. Enjoy.

What was the ring like toot?

Still waiting NY19, it been about a month so far.
