100-year-old breaks 60m world record

Running 60 metres in 19.13 seconds may not seem like an achievement for some of us, but at 100 years of age, Orville Rogers just broke the world record over the distance for his age at the USATF Masters Indoor Championships!

How about the jet in lane five also? He is over 90 years of age!

lol lol lol - I saw it on the News this morning!  Kinda' funny actually - although if he were chasing me with an axe  - I'd have no hope ......so in retrospect shouldn't be laughing!

However I will "laugh" at his name ....  Orville  ....... only in America!!   :-)

Image result for seniors cartoon man running racethis would be the norm for a 100 year old I would think!

..... did you watch the link?  Tall guy on Podium 1 - (tall) looks like he could "kark it" at any given time! lol lol .....mind you - they all better than me - so - I rest my case!  More power to them all!

The guy in lane 1 must have "karked it" because I can't even see him! (lol)

These men and women are a great inspiration, hats off to them.

Great role models, I agree. My Aunt is 90 and still dancing the waltz. My entire family were active and healthy, almost to the end.

Dancing the waltz is not very strenuous, providing she is not wearing high heels (the most stupid invention ever for women!).  Can she hop, skip and jump?

Micha..

I’d like to see the above poster even attempt to dance the Viennese Waltz (on second thoughts..maybe not!). For anyone to dance the Viennese waltz at 90 years of age is a feat because it can be up to four times faster than the Slow Waltz and consists mainly of turns..

Your aunt is one of my greatest role models..her entire outlook on life is inspirational and she even beats me at tennis!

Off to "hop, skip and jump" lol

Like this Sophie?

gotta laugh!

Guys, I was having coffee and gugelhupf cake with my aunt today and found out she can also do something called the Lindy  Hop.

I'm guessing there's a "hop, skip  and jump" in there somewhere? She asked if I wanted  to learn it, hahahaha

Micha, what is gugelhupf cake?

At last, an intelligent question, LOL

Mate, it looks like this and originated in Europe. My aunt was born in Austria and is  a great cook.

when you come again, I'll get her to make you one.

Wow! Orville first. Daylight second!

Here's a 91 year old lady gymnast too.....

Micha -  I watched the Lindy Hop on YouTube today and it looks great, something I could learn but sadly no partner. An instructor was showing the basic steps to a slow beat. Of course the professionals were really fantastic.

Ahh HOLA, if only you lived in my State, I would be honoured to be your partner!

Oh Micha -  You are such a gentleman.

Bugger!! I now feel totally inadequate.

It is a bit of a downer watching the gymnast :(

Reckon I could beat the centenarian though :))))

Being an armchair sportsperson, I'm just happy to watch and applaud their great achievements.

If their body can still be that athletic at that grand age then why not go for Gold.

My cakes are supurb, and that takes a lot of strength and effort in the kitchen too, those wooden spoons are darn heavy when beating the mixture .lol

..... stick to ya' circus - Clown!   :-)

Mind you dont get the way of my wooden spoon Furface... It packs a bit of a wallop with me behind it...  LOL
