Adjusting colour from printer

I have a Canon i560 as my everyday printer and a Pixma for specials. The Pixma is fine, but the Canon does not print true colour. The red prints as blue/purple. Is there a way to adjust the colour? The inks for the Pixma are too expensive for me to use on a daily basis.

I dont wish to "hijack" this thread, but it struck a nerve for me. I also have a Pixma printer and am sick to death of being ripped off for the cost of ink. We are paying $50 for a spoonful these days. It is ludicrous that I can buy a NEW pixma printer for LESS than the cost of the two ink cartridges it contains - the manufacturers are obviously subsidising the cost of the printer in order to "Milk" us later with the ink cost.

Can anyone suggest a good printer with an ink replenishment system that is economical (or, at least FAIR)?. I understand that at least we should be looking for a machine with separate cartridges for each colour used - at present, I am forced to replace my colour cartridge when only ONE colour might be low, e.g., I may be low on red, but have plenty of blue and green left.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I've got an older, i.e. 2 years old, Epson printer, with separate cartridges. If I run out of black, it asks me if I'd like to print, using a mixture of colours, which seem to come out as black to me, so that's fine. I've found though that the cartridges seem to dry up quite rapidly if I don't do any printing for a while. The cartridges are about $16 each.

Bev, you must have the same printer as me, a CX3700? I only use it for colour printing now as I bought a Brother laser printer (about $100) for my black and white printing, far more economical.

Hi all. I understand that it is the policy of all these Companies to sell these printers at cost in order to rip us off with the ink cartridges. In my office, we have 2 HP laser colour printers. Wit the irregular, Office Works cash back deals, these printers come up every 2 or 3 months, for a net price around $200. A set of cartridges costs around $600 to buy, so when we have run off around 2000 copies & run out of ink, we throw it in the bin & buy a new one.

H E L P .......... I agree with all the posts, we are being ripped off, but that doesn't answer my original question. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the colour on my printer? Please
