Aged Pension Rules

There seems to be some confusion over the qualifying period for aged pension. I entered Australia, at 30 years of age,as a government sponsored immigrant from the UK in September 1978. I was continually employed until December 2014.

I calculated my qualifying period as 36 years and 6 months. I claimed OAP in September 2015.

Recently I was informed by centrelink that my pension was being affected by the fact that I was only empoloyed for 400 + months and not the 500+ required to claim full pension.

I have been unsuccessful in sourcing any reference to this 500+ month rule either directly from CL or on the various information sources on the web.

Can anyone shed light on this please.

To get Age Pension you need to have been an Australian resident for at least 10 years in total. For at least 5 of these years, there must be no break in your residence.

Unfortunately they seem to keep changing the rules
