Albanese's new approach makes sense

......When it attacks Government measures, and then votes for them, its critics denounce it as inconsistent.  Mr Albanese's approach is for Labor to pick carefully which issues it takes to the wire.

Despite the Opposition's general impotence, Mr Albanese's revised question time tactics — precise questions trying to force answers rather than get TV grabs — is an improvement, and scored some hits on Energy Minister Angus Taylor.

The new Opposition leader shows good sense in bringing the party back to credibility.

Perhaps under Albanese's leadership, Labor could be a real contender to win office at the next election.

He is the best chance the Liberals have of winning the next election.

He's trying but needs a voice makeover or forget about the next election.

He'll have to find a faith like Scomo and learn to sing!

Miracles do happen :)

Oh yes, he is very trying, very trying indeed.

I was never a fan of Shorten.  No major reason but just did not like him.  His policies regarding "Retiree Tax" of negative gearing would not have bothered me at all.  I am not keen on Albanese's voice either but his pragmatism seems sensible.  The only thing I cannot abide is lies by politicians or the way they cannot give a straight answer to a question. My wife and I just lost $78 per fortnight each in our part pensions, just because her mother died and left her some money. Why do they need to kick pensioners, unemployed, and others in the teeth all the time. Some perverse pleasure because they can, and then the bleeding hearts of Joyce who cannot live on over 200K$ a year, oh poor baby.

Well spend the inheritance and get your $78 back then.

Albanese is just another boring, moaning leftie and one who has a most irritating monotone.

Big Bear is right - he is definitely an asset to the current LNP crop.

Watched a recent Bill Shorten TV interview. His facial dead-pan expression and cold eyes gave me the impression of a person in a state of psychotic trauma. Wouldn't surprise if he became a thorn in the backside like Tony Abbott was.

Albanese seems to have no clue yet which way to go and looks really confused - Shorten has left a massive mess for him with a massive number of unpopular policies which cannot allow Labor to win in the near future without major surgery.

It is however pathetic to simply roll over and accept Govt proposals (such as tax cuts for the high income earners in stage 3) just because he couldn't stop it in the lower house. That may have been self-interest as all MPs will get that maximum $11,640 tax cuts from 2024. Vote them ALL OUT before that so that they don't benefit.

Labor leader Anthony Albanese says he hasn't seen any evidence of corrupt politicians in federal parliament after more than two decades as an MP.

He has defended Labor's opposition to a parliamentary inquiry into allegations federal ministers interfered in visa applications for Chinese high rollers.

Crown Casino is facing claims it had a "hotline" to Australian consulates to fast-track visa applications, which the company denies......

As memory serves us well...remember Sam Dastyari Former Australian Senator for ALP? Who does Albanese think he is kidding?

Here's some others;-

Federal[edit]

John Curtin1914 LaborFailing to comply with a compulsory medical examination for conscription 3 days jailLater became Prime Minister of Australia; first Prime Minister to be convicted of an offence

Pauline Hansen should never have been jailed. It was a witch hunt. And she is still a thorn in th side of the Liberal Party and good on her. Seems she has started to be able to pick stable men who are not just using her to gain a place in Parliament and then stab her in the back. She has one good thing lacking today. Common Sense.

Like ex Leader of Labor. who is a really good bloke and now a Senator in NSW and Deputy of One Nation. Mark Latham.

If we had had One Nation candidates we would have voted for them.

Had to vote Labor out so Liberals benefitted. Cant have this left wing idea of punishing the elderly because they no longer work and so take up space. Greens would like to euthanize us all and grab our assets for the State seemingly.

Labor has got to get rid of their influence if ever to get back to being the workers, battlers and pensioners party.

And seeing as this is happening all over the western world, greens infuence - cant see it being soon.

Our only hope for the future is the Greens used to hate Nuclear Power anything. Lets hope it hasnt changed since its back on the table being served up as a solutioin to power prices. Yep not kidding. Guess the generation ingovernment today missed out on education of why Nuclear anything is a bad movement for world survival. Nuclear Winter - that is what stopped the Cold War but today how many know what that actually is?

I think its time we started trying to catch up to the rest of the world that currently has 451 reactors operating in 30 countries (2018 figures) with another 50 under construction in 15 countries (2019 figures) and god knows how many more planned, while we are sitting here contemplating naval fluff and being over taken by the world's developing countries

Do we deserve the stupidity governments impose upon us?
