I like so many types of art, from delicate contemporary works in watercolour and ink

to the richest classics in oils

to the intricacy and accuracy of flora and fauna illustrations

to the amazing world of miniature art

to the wondrous work of those who illustrate books

to the whimsical and absurd

and to the cleverness and messages of contemporary street and pavement art.

RIP Charles Blackman

Charles Blackman OBE (12 August 1928 – 20 August 2018) was an Australian painter, noted for the Schoolgirl, Avonsleigh and Alice in Wonderland series of the 1950s. He was a member of the Antipodeans, a group of Melbourne painters that also included Arthur Boyd, David Boyd, John Brack, Robert Dickerson, John Perceval, and Clifton Pugh.

Artist Charles Blackman, known for Alice in Wonderland series, dies aged 90.

Not my cup of tea but such an imagination.
