Absolutely disgusted to wake up this morning to yet another assault of an elderly man. This time a 90 year old for God's sake.
It is becoming more and more prevalent and as far as I am concerned this gutless cowards who pick on them should get automatic 5 years jail; no ifs or buts.

Nah - get rid of all the "mouldy oldies" -they take up space - total waste of time - cost the Govt. too much in Pension Payments and Medicare - Homecare etc. etc. - nah - kill 'em all off! Now!!!

Kids?? - well they don't wanna' look after them - their parents "incontinent" (when they not traveling the Continent) and - with the kids supposed money? lol lol

Vulnerable elderly Victorians are being bashed, sexually assaulted, threatened and robbed in nursing homes, new police figures show. A Herald Sun investigation has found our aged care system in a shocking state, with 191 crimes against people recorded in 2016. Elder Rights Advocacy chief executive Mary Lyttle said dementia sufferers were most vulnerable to psychological abuse and isolation.

Rape...always disgusting but it is mind blowing to hear of a 15 year old raping an 83 year old. Wonder why they call it “sexual penetration” rather than rape? Sure it’s the same thing but doesn’t have the same media impact as “15 year old boy rapes 83 year old woman”. Was it a case of a 15 year old being genuinely attracted to older women or was it a case of any vaginal hole will do to get it off? Great that women are starting to expose dubious male penis driven behaviour in effort to change testosterone driven criminal aggression.
R-n-R ...I just do not know what is happening in the world now. It is very sad that seniors (I know others also get assaulted as well but I am referring in particular to vulnerable seniors here) who have little chance of defending themselves are having to live their seniors years looking over their shoulder and being fearful.
I used to go walking on my own through bushland not far from where I live but now I would not do so.
Even going to the supermarkets I take only what I require to do my shopping and keep my money hidden under my blouse. I am one of the fortunate ones who can still run and am quite fit but there are a great many who have difficulty walking let alone being able to run to get away from someone wishing to do harm.
Robi - it may not have been an actual "rape"? ... as apparently "sexual penetration" is often used in the Media for "Digital Rape" ......... either way it is abhorrent - my heart goes out to that poor lady! :(

Without excusing the inexcusable, I do wonder how this 15 year old boy reached the state he did to rape an elderly woman... what was going on in his life?
As for cruelty in nursing homes ... it beggars belief. I imagine that the homes don't go out of their way to employ psychopaths, but ordinary people ... and then this happens.
Also ... there are so many forms of abuse ....
A medical specialist has told of the times when family don't want an elderly relative to have life extending treatment ... and this treatment was to provide a good quality of life. Other specialists have experienced the same. For some the $ sign .... !!!
With euthenasia now legal in Victoria, undoubtedly some elderly are going to fall through the cracks. Very sad.
... Twila - let me tell you what happened to me today ........
A dear friend of mine (my hairdressing friend for many years) - has been visiting her Mum (88 years of age) - who had a stroke - 5 years ago!!! She has visited for the whole 5 years - every day - every day!!! Her Mum cannot dress - feed herself - cannot turn a magazine page - cannot pick up a pen - (she loved Crossword Puzz.) - a spoon - nothing ............ BUT ..............her brain is 100% "with it" and is /has been begging to die for ages!! Imagine that!!!??? Soooooo sad!!!!
My friend (who rarely lets emotion get the better of her.....) called me and said ...."I don't thnk I can cope with this much more..." etc. etc. (I had met her Mum a few times but never visited the Nursing Home as was not that "close" ..... however ..............)
I said to my dear friend "Hey would you like me to go with you next time? No probs if you don't?" She said "OMG I would love that and so would Mum ......"
So - I bought a lovely little Individual Iced Xmas Cake - a pack of "Scotty Dog" shortbread biscs. - and some Lindt Chocs....wrapped them all - curling ribbon on top etc. blah blah.........did a card .......
My friend comes to pick me up - says "Oh geez - I should have told you - Mum is not allowed any treats/ nice eating "stuff" - whatever ........I'm so sorry we can't take your Xmas gifts!!"
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!????????????? (I had NO idea......) so she then proceeds to tell me .......
.... you are not allowed to take food/biscs/chocs etc. etc. into Nursing Homes.......in case they "choke" (not being under supervision!) and the families sue the Nursing Home!!
Their bedside drawers are checked on a regular basis (to make sure they not hiding any "goodies" etc.) ..... this is appalling - appalling! I had NO idea this went on in Nursing Homes!!!!! No idea!!!
I am a still sick with what I saw today!!! Elderly people in recliner chairs in a semi-circle - all watchng a very loud TV high up on a wall ......no one there - no staff member - nothing! My friend told me they put them there at 8.30 am - (after brekky) then give them lunch there....change their Nappies etc. and then put them back in the chairs til dinner time - feed them - then into bed!!!!
Tell ya' what - no fun in getting old and I am scared out of my mind as to how we/myself could possibly all end up! I truly wished I had never gone there today - I am still ill as I type this ...........................
Frightening/terrifying in fact .............as she is of "sound mind" I myself - would want - BEG for Euthansia NOW.........!!!

How terrible for your friend, her mother and seeing this yourself. I do sympathise. Truly. I would feel the same way.
It sounds a dreadful, dreadful place. They should be monitored. There is no excuse for this sort of treatment.
Also, you know, 88 years is not so very old. I know quite a few very active 88 year olds and older. One friend is in her early nineties and travels frequently.
A number do have health issues, but these are well under control and effect their daily living not one iota ... not one iota at all. And they still like to look great!!
The main thing is ensuring your health!! Keeping on top of it ... and enjoying life ...
A stroke is awful and can hit people much younger than 83 years.

.. thank you for your very kind words!! However - what I cannot get my head around is......these people in their twilight years - are not even allowed some "treats/goodies" to eat in their lives? This is what is getting to me .....sorry .........
oh ...and the semi-circle around the "high/loud" TV! My friend says the staff never change the Channel! For God's sakes .......... ??
This is not a "plebby" Govt. Nursing Home - this is one of the "upper scale" - well if this is one of the "best" - heaven help the others!! No wonder they raking in the bloody milions of $$$$'s they do each year! Apologies but I am really angry after today's visit .......

Many of these nursing homes are very lucrative money-making rackets. And many of the "owners" reside outside Australia.
Some time ago an expose was made of this on TV. Heartbreaking!!
Unfortunately, once in there, the "victims" can't get out ... contracts are signed, money is taken, etc trapping them in.
A government minister was asked to make an opinion. The squirming and wriggle room he did was appalling and points to something "stinking in the land of Denmark" (metaphorically speaking)
High time that Death Penalty was brought back .. there is enough people in the world without these gutless wonders.
