Avoid this popular health and wellbeing shop

NSW Fair Trading is warning consumers not to deal with health and wellbeing online shop discountepharmacy.com.au after complaints from consumers that they were not receiving the items ordered.

The website, which is managed by David Le trading as Chemist Max, promotes the sale of various health and wellbeing products, supplements, cosmetics and pain relief medications.

NSW Fair Trading Commissioner Rose Webb said the warning comes following a rise in complaints from consumers about not receiving goods after making an online purchase from the website.

“Consumers report that their pre-paid items do not arrive and claim that no explanation is provided by the trader for these delays, and that there is no financial redress offered,” Ms Webb said.

“Consumers have reported finding it very difficult to contact anyone at discountepharmacy.com.au to discuss the delays, and there does not appear to be a complaint handling process, making it difficult for concerns to be resolved.”

Fair Trading NSW is currently investigating these complaints.

In 2017, the Pharmacy Council of NSW imposed an interim suspension on Mr Le’s registration as a pharmacist.

In 2019, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) took prosecution action against Mr Le for falsely purporting to be a registered pharmacist. Mr Le plead guilty in the NSW Local Court, was fined $24,500 and remains suspended by AHPRA.

Anyone who has dealt with the discountepharmacy.com.au website and is not satisfied with their interaction is urged to lodge a complaint with NSW Fair Trading. You can lodge a complaint on the Fair Trading website or at any Service NSW centre.

Have you purchased items from this website? Did you receive your goods?

Perhaps Mr Le has been unable to source his good because of Covid pandemic

... further his English may not be the best.

I was a bit surprised to read this article as I ordered a product from the company.

I admit I was a bit sceptical as I received no updates and did wonder if I would receive it.

I received it within a few days
