Bring stricter laws (by passing Animal Welfare Bill) against animal cruelty in India

We have seen an alarming surge in the heinous crimes against animals in India in the recent times. It takes enormous efforts to get the culprit arrested, which happens in only a handful cases, only to see them walk free in a matter of minutes due to the weak laws formed in 1960. Please sign to help bring stricter laws by getting the MPs to pass the Animal Welfare Bill. INDIA UNITES FOR ANIMALS, a citizens' movement to end all forms of cruelty and abuse on animals, is being launched in over 60 cities in India and 18 cities worldwide on the 18th September 2016, to be carried on fervently by compassionate and peace loving inhabitants of India and worldover indefinitely, till the Animal Welfare Bill is passed by the Parliament. By signing this petition - I also PLEDGE my vote to only those candidates contesting for Legislative, Assembly or Local body/Municipal elections (MPs, MLAs, Parshads etc) who declare their stand and policies in favour of animals and who agree to support and pass in the Parliament the Animal Welfare Bill drafted by Animal Welfare Board of India and submitted to the MoEFCC, with stricter laws and heavier penalties.

This petition will be delivered to:

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
  • President of India Shri Pranab mukherjee
  • Lok Sabha Speaker

A Melbourne abattoir has been allowed to continue operating despite being investigated for possible animal cruelty, after secretly recorded footage showed it boiling chickens alive in its slaughter process.

OMG it sickens me to see and hear of such cruelty I can not believe the way these poor creatures are treated -- it seems those that work in slaughterhouse must be a very strange lot -- if anyone does this to/ or sees it done to defenceless Animals there should be a law that much the same is done to them.

I saw that footage re the poor Chickens last night -- these mongrels should be OUT OF BUSINESS Pronto!

I believe that in abattoirs in England, it is now compulsory to have cameras to ensure there is no cruelty.

I think we should do the same.

many years ago,    my husband did a seasons work in an abattoir in GEELONG,     he was only there for the one season,  and said he couldnt go back working there,     he was particularly upset about the treatment of the poddy calves..     that were the veal,    he has never been able to eat it,      that was 30 something years ago,   would have hoped things would have improved,    but apparently not,       some of the footage is horrific,     i ddnt see the chickens llast night,   but can only imagiine,

I was told when I was a Child about the way they treat Poddy calves right from birth -- by a wonderful man that used to be a drover -- he was telling my Mother and he said he would NEVER ever eat veal -- and I have never eaten it either -- in fact I am a very low meat eater -- maybe once every 3 months or so.

The way we treat Animals is inexcusable
