Can someone help me please

I have a Sony Handycam...bought years ago but barely used.

Would like to download what is on there to my laptop.

Tried connecting and nothing happened.  Then realised after reading the book that I need software called PMB...(picture motion browser).

However,  my model No. is DCR SX43E and unable to find the software for it.

Can someone point me in the right direction...please??

You can also take it to a camera shop and they will downlad into a CD or USB for you

Thanks for the information from both of you....my eyes glazed over when I read what I had to do ....not confident in my ability so will give it a miss.

Will leave the darn pictures on my camera.

The only other thing I could do is try and use the memory card in my old desktop pc and if I can install on there I can put on my usb stick and then onto my laptop (I think )!!

RADISH,   i know virtualy nothing about computers,    can log on and off,   thats about it,    but do know you can get pics put onto a cd,   and can play that through your computer,    i have friends in CARNAVAN,   and they send me pics that way,  i think most photo shops would do it,     i know here in SOUTH MELB,   the big photo shops ad, that they do,   would be a lot easier i would think,

Yes, we are able to play it from the camera via a cable to the TV and have done that.

However, I want to transfer to my laptop as well...Not to worry I will work it out one way or the other.  May need to ask one of my Probus computer people ...usually someone has an answer.

Drivers and Software

Select your Operating System to see files, for example, when I clicked on Windows 10 I got this … as on pic below. Ditto for Mac OS which I use. Most Windows versions are listed.

The PlayMemories Home software helps you easily organise, view, and edit photos and videos for your Sony digital cameras and camcorders.

The PlayMemories Home software succeeds Picture Motion Browser (PMB) and is recommended for installation in its place.

If you cannot locate your original software disc, you can download and install this latest version of PlayMemories Home.
