Can we use a router with wireless internet

We are full time on the road and therefore must use wireless internet. Because we have more than one computer as well as an iTouch and iPhone we would like to use a wireless router but are having trouble finding out if we can use one with our wireless internet. Can anyone assist please?

Simple answer is Yes.

You would have the modem hard wired to the router via ethernet cable and another computer could have a wireless connection.

The best software that I know of to set up the wireless connection is Network Magic.

That allows you to see files on one computer from another plus both have internet access.

BigPond wireless using the network gateway is a modem and router.

Thanks for the reply However we have an Optus wireless modem and I cannot see any way I could hardwire this to a router.

Plus if I could and used the wireless on the other computer would this mean I could use WiFi to download to my iPodtouch as I do when visiting my son who has ADSL and a router. Probably a silly question but I am self taught with the computer so dont understand all the mechanics of how it all works.
