Carer's allowance

Can an Australian citizen living permenantly abroad and receiving the full OAP permenantly (pension payments sent every 4 weeks by Centrelinkg to an acoount in the country where the pensioner is now living) receive a carers allowance? Meaning the caring situation is abroad and can the carer be a son or daughter? Thanks.

Website states it is not payable outside Australia.

And more about outside Australia, e.g.

When we can’t pay you
Your Carer Allowance stops as soon as you or the person getting care leave Australia to live in another country.

I didn’t know that an OA pensioner could also get carer’s allowance. I have a friend caring for a husband with Alzheimer’s..they are recipients of a couples OAP. Is she also entitled to a carer’s allowance as well?

Yes!

Thanks hyperbole. I will let her know.
