A mother of an adult female child with mental health problems was receiving carer payments up until the mother died. The payment then ceased.

The father then applied to be carer of his daughter and Centrelink has denied his application.

If the mother was entitled then surely the father is equally entitled to carer benefits, even more so now there is only one parent trying to cope with mental health of the daughter.
