DIGITAL SET TOP BOX

has anyone heard what is happening about the set top boxes for Pensioners?
Ages ago i read that the Gov would help out the oldies in this regard. My friends cant afford to buy a new HD TV. So I thought i woyld ask the meeting place about the boxes.

Have not heard anything about that Charlee. sorry cannot help.

We bought a High Definition Set Top Box at Target today for $89 on special.

We are not sure if it will work on our few years old tele. but we are allowed to try it and take it back (packaging in tact) of course other than carefully opened and we can try.

Apparently the box has to be high definition otherwise useless. We shall see when we open it and try tomorrow.

I also bought a high definition set top box, quite a while ago - works perfectly on my 5 year old TV, in my bedroom. Then I bought a HD TV for the lounge. Can't really see any difference between the two, so maybe the HD box is the way to go. As for the Government providing them, I think they have a lot more on their minds now, than when it was announced.
