Doctor's receptionists

Why was it, when I went to my doctor, this morning, that both of the receptionists had streaming colds? Although I had made an appointment for the first appointment of the day, because I didn't want to have to wait amongst those who were possibly infectious, I was subjected to those who were? Thank goodness, I carry the bacterial handwash with me. Maybe they just want more business, even though you have to wait 3 weeks for an appointment.

That is atrocious. The Clinic I go to keeps those gauze masks at reception and anyone with a cough or a cold is instructed to wear one. Doctor's waiting rooms are a hotbed of bugs, and to have the staff spreading them is unacceptable. I have C.O.P.D. and colds and flu have serious repercussions for me, so I usually register at the desk, then wait on a seat outside. My doctor knows that and just comes and gets me, by tapping on the window.

There are no magazines in our Doctor's rooms anymore because NOW they deem they are a bed of infection :) It has taken a long time to realize this but I am as guilty as anyone grabbing an old mag. and flicking through it and yes I have thought about the germs :(

Anyone can need to use the loo at a Doctor's rooms of course with one elderly gentleman ( The receptionist said he had pee'd all over the seat because he did not lift the lid) (I would rather a lifted lid and not put down rather than a bloke miss and pee all over it :( :( I bet he does not lift it at home and his wife runs around cleaning up after him) If he had Alzheimers I could understand it but he seemed o.k.) anyway in the 3/4 hr. Peter and I waited for the Doctor this gentleman went to the toilet 5 times and every time had to go to the desk and ask for the key to open the door. Seems a bit sad to have to do this do others think? Worse than hand up in the classroom.

People have to ask for a styrene cup if they require a drink there also but maybe because kids keep going back and forth back and forth and taking a new cup (maybe it does get a bit expensive and asking for a cup every time stops them some).

I must write on my note to see if I can buy one of those collapsable drink things (havn't seen them for years but would be handy to pop in my bag) (which I now clean because it has been on floors) :) I honestly had never thought about it nearly as much but clean it everytime I get home now.
