Does Australia need a National Integrity Commission?

Leader of the Opposition, Bill Shorten, on Sunday wrote to Prime Minister Scott Morrison asking him to support a proposal for a National Integrity Commission.

First proposed in 2013 by The Australian Greens, the National Integrity Commission would be in charge of the investigation and prevention of misconduct and corruption in all Commonwealth departments and agencies, and federal parliamentarians and their staff; the investigation and prevention of corruption in the Australian Federal Police and the Australian Crime Commission; and independent advice to ministers and parliamentarians on conduct, ethics and matters of proprietary.

Mr Shorten proposed a Labor/Coalition colaboration on this matter 8 months ago and nothing came of it.

Do you think a National Integrity Commission is a good idea?

Does the Labor Party have integrity? Does Bill Shorten have integrity? Who knows?  But I dont think we need a specialised "Integrity Commission" to help us find it.
