Every COVID-19 commercial is exactly the same

Have you noticed a sameness about the messaging you are seeing on television during the pnademic?

When a company or brand releases a Coronavirus response ad, they might tell you that we're living in "uncertain times", but that "we're here for you".

They may say their top priority is "people" and "families" by bringing their services to the "comfort and safety of your home". And don't forget: "we're all in this together!"

Watch the below video and see how many of the exact same instances you notice in ads on Australian television at the moment.

According to the person who compiled the video, "many companies have found themselves short on cash, almost overnight. They needed to get a message out - and quick. They asked their teams to throw something together. Since they can't film a new ad because of social distancing, they compiled old stock b-roll footage and found the most inoffensive royalty-free piano track they could find. This, combined with a decade of marketing trends dictated by focus groups and design-by-committee, released a tsunami of derivative, cliche ads all within a week of one another."

How many of the same types of ads do you recall seeing on Australian television?

YES, SAME SAME SAME AND IT'S GETTING ANNOYING.................

That is a weak excuse. What about when journalists film incidents or press statements with audio in them.

Many of the journalists would be 1.5 or even 2 metres away with camera and microphone.

The ad that upsets me most is the one from W.H.O !  That bunch that is in full protection mode when it comes to China. That same mob that said it did not transmit from one person to another, and abused us, and the US for shutting out borders. I'm going to get one of my puppy's foam toys so I can throw it at the screen everytime it comes on...........I'll have to train puppy to bring it back to me first though.
