Fancy a trip to Paris?

No wonder tourism has dropped dramatically.  However, if you still want to go there are some very good accommodation deals...some up to half price.

Pepe, I watched that in total disbelief.

My beautiful romantic memories of Paris in the Springtime have just been replaced by visions of  blood and guts and escalating violence.

The accommodation can remain empty as they could not pay me enough to revisit. :(

Australia is looking better every day.

My blood runs cold to see that you have put such a link up Pepe La Pew (aka Rad). My opinion of you has dived considerably. That film and others like it are Pegida brainwashing filth. Pegida is a movement formed by a criminal named Bachmann and is comprised of Neo nazis, other extreme right wing groups, KKK, soccer hooligans and ordinary citizens who are sucked into a war like mentality due to fear based xenophobia. Pegida offers no pathway to peace and compassionate solution to the world's problems and the refugee crisis. Here read up on Pegida:

Patriotische Europäer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (Occident) (German: Patriotische Europäer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes), abbreviated PEGIDA or Pegida, is a nationalist, anti-Islam, far-right political movement founded in Dresden in October 2014 that aims to resist what it sees as a threat posed by ...Pegida - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediahttps://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Pegida

Well there you go... Thanks Robi for putting me right....going to book my trip as soon as possible :)

But I must admit what happened yesterday near the Eiffel Tower is a bit disturbing wouldn't you say?

That violent unrest was caused by soccer fans (nothing new) and had nothing to do with Islam.

There is no denying the rioting was going on...or was it a false video.

People are in denial...oh well, so be it!

Ethical news reporting would say when and where exactly the riot occurred and what it was about. That video is fear mongering propaganda and you are promoting it.

LOL....just as well I dont take these things to heart eh :)  As long as I live in a democracy I will have my say just as anyone else is entitled to do.

My sister has just returned from a trip to France and the UK ( Wales ) and had a great time. I didn,t bother with the vid. Just popped in to relate my sisters trip and return to Cairns. Back to being grandparents.

My in-laws are Parisians they are far more worried about the far right Nationalist party led by Le Pen than by the refugees. The video is propaganda by Neo Nazis.

Snopes.com (Rumor has it) published a quite interesting analysis of the videos.

See: http://www.snopes.com/paris-muslim-siege-false/

Snopes and hoaxslayer are very good at giving unbiased and accurate accounts of sham emails and videos. Good post RnR.

Great link RnR, thank you.

Ok I will accept the fact that the video is false but there is no denying that there has been a large drop in tourism to Paris. If it is not terrorism what is the reason for it?

.

No idea really Pepe but may be to do with Brexit, exchange rates, terrorist stuff, worker's strikes, etc. etc.

I have a sister and nephews and nieces living in Paris...they have lived there practically all of their lives...I have visited Paris umpteen times...the last time two years ago.

Paris has changed dramatically...there are no go areas in the city where you stand a very good chance of being attacked as soon as it gets dark. Anyone who says Paris has not suffered by gangs of disgruntled refugees have never been to  Paris and are reading the wrong news reports.

Parisians can no longer walk safely at all hours in the streets as they used to...and  my sister is always worried about the children.

I have friends who came back last week and they were on edge the whole time.

Who wants to go on holiday and feel that way...no thanks!

France is definitely not a place I will be holidaying!
