heard there is a cource for seniors

was told that there is a couce available to seniors free to learn to operate a computer and at the conclusion of the course students get a free laptop.

i have looked on the internet and cannot find one but who knows - could be.

the person who told me was at a bowls game and said that he was also aware of a similar scheme at Kyabram.

There is a group who help seniors resolve their computer problems but it is not a course as such and there are no free computers but you may be able to borrow one. The Lilydale Seniors Computer Club runs free two hour sessions for seniors at 1030 and 1:30 every Monday in the Lilydale (Vic) library (except when the library is closed of course).

You can learn how to use a computer or ask a question about a software problem. It is completely free to attend and there is no compusion to attend all or any session once you have your answers.

Ring the library if you need more information 03 9294 3120

I am generally wary of promises of freebies, and agree with friends that you get nothing for nothing. In Brisbane a group called Brisbane Seniors on Line offer computing classes for seniors at a basic cost of $35 per year . BSOL gives members home or class tuition. This is good value, and I and sure there are similar groups offering courses in other capital cities. Contact is 07 32106983
