A good capful of Clove oil in a spray container,   spray it on the grout and leave overnight kills any mould

Yes Oil of cloves is a great cleaner for mould as it kills the spores. When you live in the Tropics it's a 'must have' in your cupboard. Vinegar is all you need for floors.

However, I am having trouble wit the glass shower screen. I can't get it looking clear even though my neighbour has solved her problem with vinegar.

Any clues?

Katie ---    If you log onto PINTEREST -  you can find out anything , like cleaning showers, gardening, cooking recipes, just about anything you want to know, it's the greatest.

A friend said she uses GLASS TOP STOVE CLEANER. She said it works terrific. Hope you have some success Katie.

I have used Salt and Vinegar for cleaning brass but IMO it does clean it but takes the shine off the metal -- I would rather have Brasso

PlanB :  have to agree.  Nothing to beat Brasso for brass.  Salt may be too abrasive.

Biddi the salt is not rubbed into it you just soak in Vinegar and Salt   -- but it makes it quite a matt finish very clean but rather matt

PlanB --  I use to clean brass using salt, lemon juice and soapy Steelwool pads. The brass came up a treat , wash the brass piece in warm soapy water, towell dry with a soft cloth.

Yes thats what I did HOLA it was very clean but didn't have the shine -- it is amazing just how the Vinegar and salt cleaned it even with just soaking in it -- never had any Lemon.

However the brass I was cleaning was the front door handles so had to take them off which does take time -- and boy they sure get discoloured very quick they need doing again now

If you want to keep your stove top like new cover it with alfoil. Catches all the spills and you can just replace whenever. Of course you cut out circles for the cooking rings.

Bi carbinate of soda is also a good cleaver. The best cleaner for the tiolet is bleach.

I find the only thing that cleans the build up of rust/calcium from water in the bottom of toilet bowl is a product called GLITZ which I buy from Bunnings.

About 1/4 cup in the bottom of toilet....take out 99% of the water and put this amount in with the little water remaining.  Leave it in there for a few hours or longer until you get it all off.  Give a scrub with toilt brush.

I usually leave overnight.
