How to post a topic on the Meeting Place

Mature people having fun looking at a computer

Okay, so you’ve made it to the Meeting Place and now you want to know how to meet new people and join a conversation. Well, the first thing you need to do is make sure you’re signed in. To do so, simply click ‘Log in’ at the top of the page (look for the blue bar just under the red navigation bar). Once you’ve signed on, you are free to make comments or start your own forum topic.

To start your own conversation, pick a forum topic in which you'd like to post. This is as simple as right-clicking on any of the links below, and opening them in a new tab or window. It’s easier to open a new page so you can easily refer back to the information here.

If you’re already on the Meeting Place, just scroll to the bottom of the Meeting Place homepage and click on any of the images under the title ‘Forums’ to choose your topic.

Now that you've chosen the forum topic, simply find the yellow 'New Topic' button in the ‘Most recent discussions’ area of the page and click, or click 'Post a new topic' at the top of the page. Then create a snappy title – you’ll want to hook people in – and start typing what you want to say in the ‘Opening Post’ box. If you wish, you can also tick the box next to ‘Comment Subscribe’ and you’ll be notified when anyone posts a comment in your new Meeting Place thread.

It's that easy!

It may pay to have a read through the many existing forums before you create your own, as there could be a topic that you would like to join in on, and test the water, so to speak
