How to strike Rose cuttings.

I was reading in a magazine the other day, "If you are trying to strike Rose cuttings just get a potato and cut a hole in it and insert the cutting into it then plant out in some good quality potting mix". I haven't tried it yet but it does sound interesting.

Thanks Hola and Johninmelb ... all sounds logical, good way to keep consistent moisture control and provide fertiliser according to reports.

Be wonderful to strike a cutting from a gift bouquet of beautiful roses if it works and you're lucky enough to be gifted some.
