‘I couldn’t give a s—t’: Barnaby
Perhaps the most galling moment of former Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce’s interview on Sunday Night, was when he claimed he “couldn’t give a s–t about the political ramifications”, after deciding to contest the New England byelection without revealing his personal situation.
That particular comment revealed more than anything the way he feels about the voters in his electorate and he also admitted that he “was fighting more out of spite than logic”.
Barnaby then had the gall to refer to some of his colleagues as “the absolute scum of the earth … that’s the Australian Parliament”.
Did you watch Barnaby Joyce’s $150,000 interview on Sunday Night? What did you think? Is his position within the National Party still tenable? Should he resign immediately.
Didn't watch the Barnaby show, my sock drawer needed some rearranging. I do note the comment by Ben "That particular comment revealed more than anything the way he feels about the voters in his electorate......" suggests that Barnaby is Robinson Crusoe when it comes to not caring about the electorate.
I am ready to take the names, with proof, of any politician who cares more about his/her electorate more than being elected. Start typing people.
quite right - they are really only interested in keeping their seat on the Gravy Train that is being a pollie in Canberra Australia today.
Although Ted Mack was one pollie - independent who dared and got their super down from 69% of annual salary a year put away to 9% like the rest of Australian workers.
So a few do good work.
Pauline Hansen is one - unfortuneately she cant pick men either way and is dudded all too often but her heart is right there doing what nmost of us think should be done
Like deport all the Muslims - and stop immigration until we are up to date on jobs and housing and have revenue from more than 11 million out of the 25 million we are near too - beause we cant go on trying to pay for those who dont contribute but have the excuse no enough jobs.
Those who pay income taxes today still are paying fo rheir age pension as levy of 7% was never taken off but transferred to Consoldatd Revenue aling with the contents of the Age Pension Fund in 1950 via regs and so when the Act was replaced and repealded original the levy wsnt affected and today still there.
Remember that when someone says the age pension is welfare - it isnt!
And most here have done just that worked and paid for it and why Howard gave the SFR the concessions - saying they paid but dont draw down on the pension.
Later he withdrew this - backroom boyos ot Liberals told him off - like back room boyos of Labour do the same to their leaders.
Democracy is not being carried out exactly as founding fathers in Westminster which we followed said it was to be.
Like we shouldnt have to vote but choose to vote as our privilige then we would get a better goverment elected by folk who knew their politics and not just followed blindly a how to vote card in hope.
Meanwhile they are all still playing politics at our expense......

I watched that scum BJ and his scum partner and he just proved to me I was right all along about my opinion of them both, that they BOTH have NO morals at all and can not be trusted to any deree-- and to think we had this low life running the country!

that was enough to put me off I cant stand people who have no regard for animals - they have feelings and deserve better than they get all too often and goverments are there to protect them as well as ourselves. After all those who will ill treat a defenceless animal will not hesitate to hurt a child or an adult even for profit etc. No empathy.

Kathleen, I also don’t understand why Michaelia Cash is receiving so much support from the PM. Why is she allowed not to answer any questions and who is paying her legal fees. This matter should have been dealt with months ago
I suspect that the PM is involved by having knowledge of it. I heard that the taxpayer is picking up her legal bill. She is horrible to watch with her sneering which is often seen on the LNP faces during question time.

I watched QandA last night where Jaqui Lambi commented that she is worried about his mental health. So enough people with the nasty comments that are unnecessary. Comment on the politics for sure but allow them to be now.
Well..I’ve just watched the “interview”. Barnaby Joyce and Vikki who are in my opinion two pathetic souls..and there is only one word to describe their “tell all” interview..sordid.
I don’t suppose they have stopped for a moment to think of the effect their public display is having on Natalie and the girls. I am hoping they didn’t watch it. I wonder if Barnaby ever bathed his girls when they were babies. In my opinion these two are well suited but I give their union probably five years or less unless they both undergo some serious psychiatric intervention.

I guess the answer to that one Sophie is because we vote for them. An oversimplification I know, but in the end that's what it comes down to.
I saw Pauline Hanson mentioned in an earlier post as maybe the answer. Well coming from one who lives in her 'old stamping ground', all I can say to that is that anyone who thinks she is the answer doesn't understand the question.
Actually I could say a whole lot more but I will refrain.
Seeing the "affair" had been going on for some time, Why wasn't either of them taking precautions to prevent the end result.? I think she knew exactly what she wanted and went after BJ. He, the typical male, was flattered by all her attention and lapped it up. . I don't think this relationship will last the distance, 2 maybe 3 years.
Soon after the affair became public Miranda Devine wrote an article disclosing some interesting facts. When I read it Hola I too thought Vicky may have risked pregnancy in July ‘17 on purpose because according to MD Barnaby and Natalie were attempting to mend their marriage. Natalie found out about the affair in March or April ‘17 and confronted Vicky publicly. She and Barnaby then commenced counselling with a Catholic Priest which continued through to late August or September. Barnaby told Natalie that the affair was over and they attended the media ball together in June. The affair wasn’t really over though and the very next month after attending the ball with Natalie, Vicky fell pregnant. When Barnaby learned about the pregnancy he had to come clean with Natalie and the marriage was then formally ended but they kept up appearances for the public until his by-election was over. In actual fact, Natalie made herself scarce during the lead up to that election, she took herself off to Bali with one of her daughters. She helped him by not revealing the truth but I think she didn’t want to be around to actively play out the farce. His daughters also made themselves scarce and refused to help with his campaigning as they had done in the past.
Anyway, after reading all that I wondered if maybe Barnaby was trying to end his relationship with V last winter and she perhaps stopped taking the pill or whatever.
Another interesting fact revealed by Miranda Devine was that in January 2017 Barnaby, Natalie and girls all went to Noosa Qld for a holiday. He was called back to Canberra because of an outbreak of disease in fish. When he dealt with that, instead of going straight back to Noosa to rejoin the family, he hired a car and he and Vicky drove there together taking days to arrive (4 days if my memory serves me correctly). Barnaby attempted to charge the taxpayer for that trip but was stymied by a ruling that said he was only entitled to the cost of getting back to Armidale, so he had to pay back some of the $thousands he claimed. During the interview the other night he said his marriage with Natalie suffered because he was never home. This story serves to show how he made little attempt to be with his family on their holiday, choosing instead to be with V and to fleece the tax payers to boot.
