ISIS

Many are now defecting from ISIS and some have been captured and are being held in a facility in Syria by rebel group/s.  I  believe there are around 300.

Some have been released, some will be put on trial if they have commited murders etc and will be dealt with under Syrian law...others wish to be repatriated back to where they came from.  Whether they will be remains to be seen;  many are from Europe.

I don't want any of them back here in Australia (if they are amongst this lot).

I agree with you Radish ... if they left here to fight against our soldiers on behalf of  ISIS ... they should be stripped off their citizenship and never allowed to set a foot on the ground in Australia again.

We must follow all the normal rules of the Geneva Convention, and whatever else implies.

If we don't, we are allwing the ISIS and other terrorists to win.

fighting for isis is illegal for australian citizens. that is enought to jail them and deport them if they are foreign born. personally i think the death penalty should be reintroduced for terrorists, and minimum penalty should be jail and deportation if not australian born.

i would like to see a system where they get life jail, but after 10 years can seek asylum in a country other than australia, but remain in jail till some country stupid enough to take them gives the go ahead. unfortunately, australia is the only country stupid enough to take those sort of people.

wont happen of course but its a nice thought for decent people prepared to face the reality of terrorism ......

Welcome back Bilby...except for the "death penalty" bit...that's a pretty fair post..

Nelson Mandela was defined as a terrorist by his own country.

Good to see you posting Bilby

...if these terrorists kill Australians I cannot see any reason to support them in jail ... and death penalty it should be.

Australia has moved on from being a penal colony. There is no need to treat barbarism with barbarism, therefore no return to the death penalty.
