Issues with cruise ships

Just reading this article and thought it worth discussing.

The topic Cruising and how the old vessels are being used around Australia.

Has put us off the industry especially when we see this happen!

A break in Carnival Dream's fire suppression system dumped gallons of water into the hallway on Thursday evening

I would rather travel on an old ship rather an old aeroplane. The article states the ship involved was launched in 2008, that hardly puts it in the category of an old ship. In comparison consider what could have happened if an incident of similar magnitude occurred on an aircraft. On a ship, it is an inconvenience, something to write home about, on an aircraft it could be a disaster.

From the Daily Mail article quoted above:

“forcing passengers to sleep on yoga mats in the spa as holidaymaker quips it felt like they were on the Titanic”

Spare me … “yoga mats in the spa” … Oh tut, tut, tut.

The sinking of the Titanic on Monday 15 April 1912, resulted in the deaths of more than 1,500 people.

Self-entitled, ignorant whinging prat.

I will keep up my healthy lifestyle and stay away cruise ships. Btw  life choices how much money does the cruise ship companies donate to you for your constant promotion of cruising on ships?

Wouldn't get me on a cruise, it would be like being trapped in a club and is also a floating Petri dish plus I like to stay and enjoy places I find nice not spend a few hours there.

Must agree

..terra firma is the only way to go.

I love boats -- but private ones -- that way can go where you please and stay or leave

My wife managed to get me on a cruise a couple of years ago and have to admit I had a great time. Had two more since then. Choose the company carefully and don't go for the cheap deals and in my case avoid the massive liners.
